What was it for?
Has the rule come back in force for denying a goal scoring opportunity because I thought that rule was outlawed last season wasn't it? It sure as hell wasnt for violent conduct or a dangerous tackle.
Life goes on. Whatever happens.

Wasn't even a goalscoring opportunity. Anyon picked it up as the contact from Wiseman came. Seen it a good ten times and I cannot fathom how it is a red card.

Stupid from Wiseman though and he has not impressed me so far.

It came up as a professional foul i think on the Sky Football app alert on my phone. Think the rule is if its a penalty as a result of the denying a goal scoring chance they will only show yellow so its not the double punishment of a penalty and a red card but if its outside the box its still a red.

This is without getting into the fact that it wasnt denying a goalscoring chance unless the ref expected Anyon to drop it and allow the striker to tap it home. There is not a chance the striker was getting near the ball before Anyon.

We appealed another of this man's cock ups v Plymouth (Brown) a similar sort of decision ie wrong but on the Plymouth occasion he compounded the decision by moving it 2 yards forward into the box making it a pen. We won that appeal.

It's a pity there isnt a league table reflecting the refs, whose decisions have been successfully appealed against.

I'll be amazed if it's not overturned. Silly to put himself in the position where he allows an incompetent official to make the decision but never a red card in a million years.

Yeah definitely not a red but agree that Wiseman is stupid putting up his hands up there. Quite clearly going through to the keeper so why he feels the need to put his hands up and risk letting that situation arise is beyond me.

Probably just an instinctive grab at him and an instinctive dive.
Their player felt the touch and went tumbling over (like most players are told to). He hit the jackpot by getting Wiseman sent off. Nature of the modern game.
He would have looked a complete vagina if the ref hadn't have taken any action as it was that obvious he made a meal out of it

And why a Notts player in the video clip was seen "fist pumping" in celebration when the red card was administered.
I got the impression that Notts spend a lot of time in training working on getting opponents booked.

Imo it was because the referee was thinking should I have sent Ugwu off earlier so at the earliest opportunity he sends Wiseman off to try and compensate for it

It will be interesting to find out what he put in his report about the incident

one or 2 posters have put forward this theory. What an idiotic action to take if true. If he believed he had initially got it wrong 're Ugwu he could only take it out on Ugwu for a subsequent incident - not go ott on a different player. Mindless stupidity.

Well justice was done eventually and hopefully a big black mark for the bald headed coot of a referee

How can it be justice when we've had to play 45 minutes with 10 men and possibly lose 3 points because of a shocking refereeing decision?

Fair point. We might have lost 11 v 11 but going down to 10 can be considered significant
