[Valley Blues]

There's been lots of discussion on this forum regarding fans being dedicated or 'proper' fans and those wishing to stay away due to the dire state the club is in and being branded as lesser fans.

I have to say I fall into the latter, I've been once in the last five home games having made every home fixture prior to this.

The football is awful, the squad devoid of any shred of fight, the manager appears clueless and the board treat the fans with utter contempt. I really can't understand why I stay away.

Who is doing more harm than good?

The fans that follow the club regardless and allow this toxic regime to continue. Those that effectively bend over.

Or is it those that are turning their back on the club, or more so it's leadership, to attempt to make a change?

On face value you would slap the backs of those following town week in, week out but they're possibly making things worse. Stay away, make a stand and force change or continue to fall in line regardless of what happens ( because we're town aren't we ) and see our club slip further and further.

You maybe have to be cruel to be kind in the long run ???

We are the next Stockport County, Darlington, Lincoln, Stags, Grimsby, Leyton Orient, Wrexham, Aldershot Town, Chester City, York City, Torquay United, Tranmere Rovers, Halifax Town et al; Football Conference bound at this point in time with the present incumbents in place.

Blackpool, Coventry, Leyton Orient and Charlton all have very active fans groups against their present owners / regimes.

The only thing we've had to date is folks boycotting, walking out of games, various local Sponsors withdrawing from the club and long standing trusted employees leaving and who can blame them.

But where have the protests been; No 'anti' chants or banners and only some Boo's against the regime at games.

Is it time for SIFA or the group which met at the Vic Club a few months ago to get active before its too late.

By all accounts, SIFA or that group is dead in the water. I'm all for someone taking action. I'm very surprised at the lack of protest - very - there wasn't one, not one voice of dissent heard yesterday. Will the previous embryos of SIFA step forward - we need you.

No,let someone else have the crap that goes with standing up for what you think is the right thing to do,not going to get into a discussion of the rights or wrongs of what SIFA did either.
Time for somebody else to stand up and be counted.

You kind of 'load' the question by describing those attending as bending over and falling in line. We can all have different opinions and still be respectful. If we start well next season, many will come back. Looking at some of the views being held on here - wishing us to fail, or hoping for a phoenix club, just to get rid of the owner, is not something I can live with.

Not loaded at all, or certainly not intended.

I do not wish us to fail, far from it. I do, however, think the current regime is destined to fail. Can anyone argue against that ? And by folk blindly turning up on a weekly basis to support 'town' I can't see much changing.

Folk sitting in the same seat, paying the same money regardless will change absolutely nothing.

Unfortunately many are blinded by loyalty, and it's those that DA and AC depend on in order to continue treating the club like dog ****.

If you want to keep throwing your hard earned at CFC that's your prerogative, but in my opinion they've got your trousers down.

I'm renewing 4, I despise the regime as much as anybody, and I'll speak my mind on here and in person to them. I don't give a monkeys if anyone tries to belittle me, I respect both views when it comes to renewing tickets or not, and I won't judge anybody who does or doesn't.

Same here. Not renewing can only hurt the playing budget. DA and co won't be gone any quicker by not renewing. Showing any prospective new owners that we have strong fanbase can only be positive. Having said that I fully understand folk not renewing based on the dross served up this season. Maybe a couple of decent signings before early bird deadline may change some folk minds?

giving them money to p**s away after showing time and time again that they can't manage or use it effectively isn't helping the club at all

Your last sentence early bird really urinees me off it should be scrapped 2 of us pay 420 each in west stand with the so called early bird discount so after the deadline it's about 520 ish no way on earth would they sell tickets at 520 it's just another con by football clubs to get money in as soon as poss,why should you pay for a product nearly 3 months before you start watching a product no ideas who's coming in,etc

Nobody should be criticised for renewing. We all love the club as much as the next man and have different ways of protesting against the regime. It's easier to stay away for some than others for various reasons. There's circumstances i mentioned in another thread that would mean I keep on going. Should they arise I'll go but for the time being I'm in the 'Not a penny more' group.
