That is a sad read. I did notice that they were in the bottom four of the conference with another relegation looming.

The bizarre world of non league football, I was talking on Friday to the person who ran the payroll of an Essexbased conference team and one of their players was earning £2000 a week

Long been the case in non league. That's peanuts compared to what the likes of Fylde, Eastleigh and Forest Green Rovers have/were paying players.

I went with a few estranged friends to see Alfreton v Darlington on Saturday. Alfreton looked down and out but Darlo have been resurgent, rising a couple of leagues and on the verge of a move to the conference. That's a massive achievement for them considering the mess they've been in and , that word FAN POWER. Their management team of Martin Gray, ex Sunderland, Brian Atkinson ex Sunderland and Sean Greagan have done a massive job. They looked well-organised and good on the ball. Maybe that's where we should be aiming for in management and not the present incumbent. As for fan power - this meeting at a social club on Whittignton Moor, attended by a few dozen fans is falling woefully short. I sensed a deep resignation and apathy after the match against Southend - not what we need right now.

Tbh I have often wondered to what extent the guy who banged on the lounge window and bawled at DA in front of his Mrs has played a part in any spiteful aspect. I may have misunderstood the incident or maybe its my imagination working overtime.

None at all but I do think that Allen sees us as ungrateful underlings. However, I doubt that's the reason he and his evil henchman are stripping the club for parts - I think that's been their intention for a long time now.
Another case, like so many more in football, of 'my bank account can't keep up with my ego'.
