On the subject of Coldwell I'm veering towards the gloomy side, but still think it would be a mistake to write him off just yet. Arrogantly sticking to lousy tactics - or having the courage of his convictions with an eye to the future? On the vexed subject of playing the ball out from the back it's obvious it isn't working, but what's the alternative? Go long and see it come straight back because we can't win 'owt in the air is the alternative. The system isn't at fault, it's the people playing it who're the problem, and why they weren't strengthened by players who could make it work, instead of lightweights, is the big question. Who signed them? - if it was GC we've got problems. Personally I'm keeping an open mind.
The system is at fault as is the manager. It's not suitable towards the players at this club. A good manager would realise that and find a plan B to work with until such time he can affect the playing staff enough to make his chosen tactics viable.
Has Sheridan gone to Oldham and tried to impose on the the high tempo attacking style he successfully implemented at this club? No. He's have got them relegated if he had. He's gone there and made them a solid, hard to beat defensive unit, which is what they are good at and need to be as they don't score many, and because of his flexibility in changing tactics they will be playing league 1 football next year. Then next year he can implement his own style. Whereas we are going to be slumming it out with the dregs of league football because of our managers stubborn arrogance.

Not so much stubborn or arrogant as simply incompetent. Classic post by h btw, toadying again to dv!

Forget the playing budget and forget season ticket sales, we need fit & proper people running this club
An outsider - but if I may...
The 'fit and proper' thing is what is key here, unfortunately governance within the FL is about as effective as a chocolate teapot.
As an outsider, but a football fan first and foremost, who supports a club who were done over by successive owners your situation looks, from the outside, like an asset strip. I wouldn't be surprised if your chairman hadn't already pretty much recouped his outlay through the interest payments he's taking on his 'loans' and an ability to shift money between the football club and his other interests - unfortunately he's probably savvy enough that HMRC wouldn't be interested.
I really hope you can free yourself from the parasites involved with your club - hate to see fans being hit this way.

Yep.
I hope Ashley doesn't think that we will forget to demand access to who was on the payroll after all the transfer money came in after he's gone. He's in danger of becoming the most despised man in the history of CFC. Two no shows in succession by the great man. Surely he will salute his adoring public at the Charlton match?

He's asking for your support, David:

@ChesterfieldFC All I ask is for support and faith that we will bounce back. I have invested. I hope you do too.

There may well be, but we won't be able to afford them. We will struggle for Mansfield's cast offs, that's how low we'll be scraping imo.
You could do worse than getting rid of Caldwell and trying to tempt Paul Cox back into league management.
Say what you like about his style of football but he managed to get a team of conference cloggers pulling together to finish a respectable 11th in League 2.
With your obvious non-investment in next season's playing staff he's just the type of bloke you need at the helm.

I have just done a quick rough calculation as to how much I have spent watching CFC in home games only taking into account travel & match day tickets costs & astonishingly it is £334,305. So please don’t quote how much you have invested Ashley, some of us in our time have also invested a huge amount of not only money but our time.

I think people should be held accountable for their comments. I've said some stupid sh** over the years on here but I like to think I'm big enough to admit to it. H Again has constantly spouted pompous insulting drivel and has never once acknowledged the errors he's made and it's right that he should be chastised for that as far as I'm concerned. He has never once acknowledged the good work that grass roots fans have performed which has resulted in us uncovering a lot of the lies that the higher-ups in the club provided to us, preferring to snipe and mock their efforts throughout. Whilst I recognise it can get annoying, I've got no problem with people harassing him for an admission that he was wrong.

On the other hand, there's a very good chance you'll never get the admission you seek and instead you'll just end up cluttering every topic with personal vendettas. It gets a teeny bit like walking into a domestic.

Well as you laid down the gauntlet, here're a couple of your more recent sneers at those exposing the 'disasters' you now seem to be admitting.
'Bristol Rovers v Chesterfield' March 18th: 'I thought you might have had the decency to keep quiet on the subject after you assured us all that SEB was on 5 grand a week. Turned out to be a figure straight out of your imagination - heaven only knows what motivated you to invent such garbage. Buying a bit of cheap popularity I suppose, like most of the rumour mongers. If you need the approval of people who believe such rubbish you're in a bad way.'
'Another Bid Turned Down': March 20th: 'Try not to be sensible - it spoils the attempts to generate hysteria, and whatever you do don't criticise Sam Hird. It'll only get you abuse - which in itself tells you you're right, but why bother with such people?'
I think the words you're looking for are 'I was wrong' followed by 'I'm sorry'...
