Suspect being overlooked for the Lions squad after a very good year helped him to realise he needs to be playing Div 1 cricket to have any chance of getting a go. Only chance of getting picked whilst in Div 2 is if you are with the right county.

Given that they have got to pay back £16m worth of debt in the next few years they might need to start releasing some players in the very near future hopefully a few of them might rock up at Derbyshire.

I thought he had already left his Sri Lankan post after the T20 World Cup but according to reports Arthur will stand down after their series against the Windies to take over at Derbyshire

Almost certainly. His first class record is surprisingly moderate actually when I looked it up. He should do well though in theory.
