Just because who you think should have won it, doesn't man they should have won.
The shortlist is drawn up by a panel of experts and the sets then goes to the person witht the most public votes.
One of the main criteria for the ones to assess the shortlist nominees by is "This award goes to the sportsperson whose actions have most captured the UK public's imagination during 2016".
I'd hazard a guess that a sizeable % of the Great British Public won't know who Kadena Cox is (or even Kadeena Cox for that matter!) or why her story is so inspiring.
