Sadly, being an optimist myself I think the club may fold. I can't see us as a big enough draw to bring in any investment, either locally or from further afield. Were not a sleeping giant or a club with massive potential which these Russia and Saudi billionaires seem to go to, ala Bournemouth, Manchester City et al.
I think its worth setting up a fans group, with funding on the back of it in case the club does fold and we have to start again, like Hereford did, in a lower division next season.
In all seriousness there is a real prospect we could go. Would rather see us at places such as Parkgate, Maltby and Goole etc, than no club at all. With a decent groundshare arrangement and organisation I think we could easily draw in 1500 - 2000 a game, much like Darlington are getting in there new guise.
Discuss?
Let it fold.As far as I am concerned this club is not Chesterfield FC it ceased to be that at the end of the 2015/15 season when it became screw what you can out of it FC,Start again with a proper club run by supporters with the clubs interests at heart.AFC Chesterfield would leave Mr Allen and co with precisely what they deserve an empty stadium no supporters and folks turning their backs on his corporate catering venue. Wouldn't that be great
