Isn’t the National shortage being blamed on NHS staff shortages providing care for donors as opposed to folk not willing to donate?

Whatever the reason only 5% of the eligible population donate. The rest just expect it to be available should they ever need it. All it takes is about 6 hours of your life per year. Selfishness at its worst.

No need to get back on your high horse.

I was simply responding to a fellow poster who gave out a rallying call for folk to get the stocks back up when it’s being reported that it is actually staff shortages in the NHS that’s the issue currently.

A poster on here has had their appointment cancelled.

Well done for donating and saving lives. That said you will find out like I have that you are wasting your time with most on this board. All most people are bothered about is that the blood and it's products are available should they need them. They couldn't careless where it comes from and those that give it. They would however scream blue murder if it wasn't available. There is a guy at work who has had two platelet transfusions every week for 6 months, due to a bone marrow problem. I said to him I bet you wish you had been a donor. He answered why. Sad to say but he is no different to most people.

You're very judgemental. People don't have to give blood and they choose not to for a variety of reasons, some medical, some physcological some just don't fancy it, it doesn't make them selfish or bad people.

My wife is fit and healthy but is terrified of needles, I don't call her selfish or bad I just go about my business and give my blood, what others do or don't do is none of my business, its also none of your business. When was the last time you volunteered to work an hour in a charity shop or a food bank? I don't know if you have or you haven't and I don't care but if you haven't, does that make you selfish?

Give it a rest and get off your high horse, you're making yourself look a right arrogant **** and its taking away any respect people have for you for giving blood.

I care little what you think about me or anything for that matter. She would willingly have one stuck in her should she need blood.

Ironic how you care little what he thinks of you yet you repeatedly insist on voicing your opinion of others.

Yeah but others care little what I say. He moans about me and how I judge people but continually judges me on almost everything I post. Even bringing my kids into it . He is no different to me on this level.

“She” has received blood before to save her life but she was on the operating table under anaesthetic so was in no position to protest. Stop being an arrogant cùnt.

Had to postpone mine tomorrow as I'm not fit to go, but changing the appointment was a nightmare. A queuing system on the website it was so busy!

As for the "its only 6 hours", I have to drive a 25 mile round trip, pay to park, and take time out of a busy day, you can see why people dont. Their choice, until they make it compulsory....

Arrogant? Coming from you. Oh the irony. Obscene language shows you for what you really are. No better than anyone else and worst than most

You never answered my question, Leslie. When was the last time you did a shift in a charity shop or food bank?

There you go again assuming, however I will say you are very good at it! So charity just comes down to just shops and food banks? If that is the case then yes I'm selfish. If not then no.

Leslie, you claim over and over again that people who don’t give blood are selfish, without a thought of what their circumstances are. You are a hateful person as you have said many times yourself but you seem to only respect the thing you do or agree with.

For your information the number of people who have come forward trying to register to give blood crashed their website today. When they put out an Amber warning on stock levels, the British public have stepped up. I really don’t understand what you’re moaning about.
