Beginning to lose patience with Wilson.

Yes. He got dealt a Bunkum hand. Our squad is a joke. We knew he would be playing 'back to basics' footy...

But Dimaio for Nolan. WTF!?

To be fair Dimaio was excellent in training Friday morning.

What's more depressing is that we've lost to a team with such disunity in it's ranks with apparent ease.

And Coventry are in the same position. Bet they are grateful they get to play us next.

Wilson makes it so easy for the opposition. Have a go at these under pressure teams, but no we stuff everyone behind the ball, clog up the midfield and see if we can nick something. Classic dinosaur away tactics. Always make a sub around the hour mark, that's another classic. Not checked yesterday's yet, but no doubt there was again.

FC Magdeburg

The best bit is that the fans moved to the corner of the stand and when they attacked converged on the goal pointing their arrows Thought Germans didn't have sense of humours .

Not original but it would luck funny on TV and relatively good humoured.

Well yesterday Wilson didn't make it easy for Charlton Yesterday IMOThe 3 at the back worked.

Evatt in the middle was on end of most balls into the box.

Liddell and Hird tidied up nicely, both often playing the ball out to the wing backs with a cool air of assurance to Donahue and Graham. Both of whom had decent games, as did the 3 CB.

They could also push on, and help pack midfield. Gardner looked tidy apart from a silly back heel in front of the dug outs that luckily went for a throw as it almost gifted charltons longhaired number 11 possession and space.

That formation is worth persisting with - it offered stability and some solidity. And was fairly innovative given our squad limitations, a sort of 3-4-2-1.

Evans was isolated and marked by 2 CB but made some intelligent runs, Gboly showed flashes, which is about all he has done since not getting his move.

A few times we had a sustained period of possession and played tidy football. Had Gardners shot gone in, Charlton would have folded, the crowd was ready to turn on them. Such are the margins in football.

Considering we have both full backs out, arguably 2 first team CM out, and one forward injured and back with Bolton it was ok.

Also, they could bring our top goal scorer from last season off the bench, mwhile we had to bring a 17 yr old youth player on to chase the game.

As others have said, we didn't deserve to lose that, and there were many positives for Wilson to work with.

The problem we have is that in tight games, like yesterday, when the defence is doing OK is that we have nothing from what should be our most creative players. O'Shea, Gardner, Gboly HAVE to be able to create chances from Ched otherwise we are not going to score. I keep hearing that Ched was sat on by 2/3 players which is fine - it should leave gaps to overlap and get in behind but the limited nature of our full backs (not their fault) means that they have to concentrate on the defensive side and daren't or are told not to get into the final third.

We're seeing how the whole side can be unbalanced in an attacking sense without the forward drive of decent quality full backs. Graham has done well in a limited way defensively and fair play to him for that while Donohue is a man out of position (apparently).

If Jones and McGinn occupied those positions currently we'd be half a dozen positions higher up the table despite the other shortcomings we clearly have.

Agree with that, had we been able to field a fit Jones and McGinn with that formation it would make a massive difference with the overlapping and creating space.

Also, after receiving much criticism, Dimiao had a decent, if unspectacular game. I hope Wilson persists with that formation, there were definite positives to take from it.

A new hope.

From the Sky highlights, the scoring header from Novak looked sublime. Only similar goal I can recall involving CFC since we moved to Whitt Moor is a Leon Clarke effort as part of his hat trick for us.

I've said this before but with Ched on his own he is easy to put 2 or 3 men on to mark him out of the game.

So where do we go from that ? No strike force. = No goals.

Was a diving little prick!!... Went down clutching his ankle after getting tapped and rolled around for a few minutes before deciding to get up

He then went down twice more in the First Half (Rather theatrically looking at the ref each time!!)

Boly is so frustrating, he doesn't seem to have a football brain. There was a breakaway near the end with O'Shea (I think) and Boly that had Charlton stretched. The obvious thing to do was for Boly to run into the middle and O'Shea pass it through for Boly to be clear on goal. Instead Boly ran out to the wing, Why?????? ffs one of our better chances just fizzled out

Yeah what I meant is 2 men onto him with the third watching to see if he breaks away then moving to intercept.

I thought Danny might put Laurence McGuire at left back and move Donahue further forward. He seemed a steady player when I saw him play last.

He demonstrates his lack of positional awareness over and over again in every game. I've lost count of the Times one of our players brings the ball out of defence, sees a space behind the opposition defence, waits for Gboly to make a run towards the space only to find he either just stands still or moves towards the ball instead of towards the space. If the ball is then played to his feet he has to turn and try to go past the opponent instead of sprinting onto a through ball beyond the defender. It annoys me intensely because he's got the pace to do it, but he just doesn't see the situation. That's why IMO I can't see any club in a higher division offering us decent money for him in the near future.
