No winners in this grubby little case, thankfully should now be all over.

Hoare (400)

If Ched was a free agent walking out of court today, there would be at least 72 managers trying to sign him. For once, I'd say a huge well done to Dave Allen for upstaging them all. CFC is a huge winner. No need to discuss rights and wrongs of the court case at all. No need to gloat. Send Ched and his missus off to Barbados for a fortnight for some solitude is what I'd do, to prove we value him and look after our players.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

Thing I can't work out is, would she have gone to this trouble if Evans was on minimum wage ?

We'll probably be seeing that in the new year when he comes to visit us with his new club

"When" he leaves us (and I don't expect that to be until at least next summer, based on what a director told me a few weeks ago) it won't be to a club we'll be playing in the second half of this season (unless we go on a cup run).

This whole episodes has been really saddening. Just go on Twitter right now for an example of why rape victims are so afraid to come forward. Some tragic sh** being spoken by both men and women. Stuff like 'that little slag needs locking up for lying' and things like that. I honestly hate this world.

It's a minority, let natural cleansing deal with them.

Glad this has finally been resolved.

Can we name her now?

No, the complainant retains her anonymity, regardless of verdict. You would be committing a sexual offence to name her.
If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything.

erm, "She" didn't cry 'rape'

As has been covered many times on this and previous threads, the CPS went ahead with the charge based on the police findings on what they throught happened that night.

Some might say, they tried to make an example of him, due to his status at the time.

especially considering the following:

the 19-year-old victim did not go to the police to report that she had been raped. She made no complaint whatsoever. She had no memory of being raped. She called the police to report a missing handbag. It was the police who suggested that she might have a case for rape against two well-known footballers.

article from last year

Telegraph

I am pretty sure the case should never have come to court in the first place, based on all the evidence I've read - Ched is guilty of being an idiot, but just can't see how he could be convicted of rape based on any account of the night in question

time to move on

He's already missed a good chunk of his career and suspect the last thing he wants to do is go on holiday on the middle of the season. He'll want to get fit and get back on the pitch scoring goals rather than sunbathing!

A disgraceful day. I may not legally be allowed to call Evans a rapist but I can still call an evil piece of **** who would be better off dead. Shame on DA for using this horrible affair to make money for the club.

And so it begins.

I'm not sure cheating on your partner or engaging in drunken group sex make you evil (or should warrant a death sentence)

Bit of an idiotic post

Chesterfield chief executive Chris Turner has welcomed the news that Ched Evans has been found not guilty of rape following a two-week trial at Cardiff Crown Court.
Turner said: "We are naturally delighted with the outcome, especially for Ched, his family and friends. We can now all move forward and focus on football."

He's still a scumbag. How many of us have text a mate and said 'got a bird' prompting them to join us in sexual activities with a girl we've just met who is obviously worse for wear? If that was my son I'd be disgusted by his behaviour. If I was the father of the scumbag's girlfriend, I'd insist she left him immediately. Although, any daughter of mine would have never been involved with that kind of scumbag in the first place.

I'd have loved to see Turner explaining why we were still employing him if had been found guilty. That would have been box office stuff

I rarely back a loser

You get some grief on here mate, some quite rightly.... However I know you've always like myself believed her case was flimsy and believed Ched not guilty as evidenced by the crap that came our way after our musings in here post first trial. Goku fell by the wayside ;)

So I hate to disappoint whoever said this but...."I ALWAYS knew he wasn't guilty"

In the light of your comment, where do we think this puts the stay away Chesterfield fans? Maybe another 50 on the get i'd say. He was an idiotic kid. He's moved on, he's not guilty and let's give him some support. I'd be careful what you come out with . Let's move on and get behind the team. I wonder if Evans feels its time to put another year to his contract as a thankyou. He'll go up in my estimation if he does....
