Nice to see Evans back in the line up. What a disappointment!

Good result. Hope the performance matched as some momentum will be valuable for a good start next season.

First half was drab af but 2nd was a bit better. They are a poor side though.

Port Vale were a poor side though, a change to see another side as poor as us get beat .
The good players today for me would be Rowley, Dennis, Dimaio, Anderson, Jones, Stuckmann and believe or not Gardner.
The indifferent, Mc.Ginn, Donahue, Hird,
.

I thought Gardner played well today. But special mention must go to young Rowley, we have a decent player on our hands. He will do very well in league 2 next season.

Vale floated quite a few balls into the box 2nd half and Stuckmann took the pressure off by coming and claiming the majority of them

Dennis worked hard up front on his own most of the time and Mcguire and Anderson were steady at the back

Anderson is beginning to show more composure on the ball at times and passing the ball out instead of the big boot which I suppose is what Caldwell wants

1st half I thought Vale shaded possesion without really troubling us but 2nd half I thought we deserved the victory with young Rowley anticipating that the keeper might push out the cross shot and actually following the shot in

Agree with the exception of dimaio. Slow to make challenges in midfie and some poor passing

If he's still here - Newcastle scout watching him today.

I would like to see Port Vale relegated with us. Brown and Morgan, what a pair

Thier fans certainly lived up to the dubuious reputation they've earned

The keeper deserves a deal for next season even if he is back up to Tommy. Today he pulled off a worldly save and commanded excellently

Yes I forgot to mention the fantastic reflex save in the second half to keep us in front

Agreed, but I thought Hird had a solid game.

That'll be two sides Morgan has helped to take down in the same season. Is that a record.

Did Morgan get any stick from the crowd around their bench today?

After all he got plenty when he was in the home dugout
