Commend those that will be doing, though.
Assuming they'll be more than a few hundred there, should we make it to Wembley.

All gate receipts in the group stages go the L1 and L2 clubs (after costs and if there is anything left), so the academy sides don't benefit financially.
So, those that do go will be helping the club in a small way but I understand your view, but the attendance figures from the first few game weeks will surely prompt the EFL in to a rethink?

I really want to go tonight, but i cant support the new format. Everyone should think long and hard about their decision to go tonight. The only way to send a message is based on attendance. Support (based on attendance) could result in future changes to league structures etc. I'm gutted i have to make this stand, its a competition i have enjoyed attending in the past.
I will be attending future checkatrade games when its league 1 & 2 teams against each other.

crowd will be tiny because of opposition and the price - but if people want to go and support the team then they shouldn't be vilified for it

If people wanna go that's cool but they are supporting this competition if they choose to go. They are supporting the team too. It's fine, but don't try and pretend you're not supporting the competition if you're going to pay money to watch two sides play football for a fixture provided by this competition.

Is it better or worse than paying 12 quid to see a friendly against Leicester U-21's?

We, as a club, voted for this competition, didn't we? So by staying away we are showing our disagreement with the club's decision. Every person who stays away is contributing to a show of disapproval. It's a simple concept.

Slightly ironic that some of those who may be feeling "vilified" are those very same people who have "vilified" others for staying away from matches recently. (That's not aimed at you, Cartman, by the way).
We all make our personal choices in life. And that's cool.
