Depends what the operation is for....often with the knee operation type stuff further ops are required to tidy up scar tissue etc. In fact didnt he have one already not long back? Without knowing what the op is for or to do its a bit quick to jump on the fact its another cock up!

I'm absolutely gutted, Angel is by far our best central midfielder imo. Its such a shame a stupid injury has caused him so much trouble.

I'm not sure you can describe ACL damage as a little injury.

Sorry that came out wrong, I mean the way he injured himself. He tripped over a ball in training didn't he?

Indeed he did.

From the tone of that communication it didn't sound like a minor op

I dislocated my knee and had a full tear of my pcl as well as medial damage ...i went to see the top man who treated wednesday players as i had a private health plan through work after an x ray which i could not understand having as id had one the week before he put me on an rehab plan to strengthem the knee ( this was prior to diagnosis). After i nearly passed out doing an exercise i decided to see somebody else who instantly had me potted up from foot to crotch for 8 weeks..there are plenty of clowns about.

So you based this on 3 appearences at most? Admittedly from what we saw of Liddle last year he isn't great but we haven't see Nolan yet

Both Angel and O'Neil are injured, I think we need to bring in another defensive midfielder. Liddle is our only currently fit defensive midfielder, and hes rubbish imo.

Stop panicking!

Being without Angel is hardly new to us.

Nolan can play a defensive role I understand. Liddle is better than what you say and O'Neil will play sooner rather than later whereas another of DS's signings might play later rather than sooner.

According to Grimsby fans, Nolan is excellent going forwards, but is absolutely shambolic at defending.

So we currently have one fit defensive midfielder then. I just hope O'Neil isn't out for long, fingers crossed.

Let's wait and see shall we - like me, I am sure Danny wasn't expecting Angel to be fit anytime soon!

This is also Dion's best position in my opinion, although he's not played it at first team level due to having to muck in elsewhere.

As have I. ACL, PCL, Medial ligaments, split kneecap. 6 artificial carbon fibre ligaments with lateral reinforcements. 16 weeks in pot, 12 months in a brace. All caused by studs sticking while bowling at Thorsby Colliery cricket ground.
Is it time to release him? Sorry but the money could be better used. He has been given almost a year to recover
