I can confirm that CFC are well aware of the true identity of a good number of message board members.

I suspect that is a breach of the DPA.

If they are and they obtained the information via this board then that could be very interesting. CFC Directors suing members for libel then board members suing board administrators under the data protection act, imagine the blocked threads that would create.

Law suits cost money to file so I wouldn't sweat it too much.

I was under the impression that a board would be obliged to pass on information ONLY if legal proceedings were instigated.

I would also imagine it is illegal under DPA for any moderators on this board to divulge information to parties who have no reason to have this information unless otherwise clearly stated. Eg. Anyone who isn't directly involved with the running of it e.g Chesterfield Football Club.

Perhaps someone would like to clarify?

The ice is certainly pretty thin where someone is standing.

So with your logic it's ok to call a white person a racist name?

Pathetic.

Who from?
Who exactly are the moderators on here?
Pete is one- anyone know any others?
Has the club been passed info via them?

A FOI check would be interesting!

Doubt the club care who I am! And wouldn't really bother me if they knew who I was, anyone posting anything should really be prepared for people to know who they are anyway

However, did we tick something saying details could be shared when signing up? Can't remember!

Pete isn't a moderator. He's admin - one of the big hitters.

Admins are Denny, dalekpete, Aspireite and InkySpireite (I don't believe the latter is active).

Mods are marlons curtains, moondog, valemadness & Webster.

"Anyone posting anything should really be prepared for people to know who they are anyway"

You might not care, but some of us do.

Feel free to give your own privacy away by all means, don't expect the rest of us to do the same. The law is clear on this matter.

* There is nothing in the guidelines regarding sharing of data ( screenshotted btw!), and if there was a disclaimer, I doubt it would supercede the DPA

The ICO is the place to go with general issues and guidance regarding DPA breaches.

TBH there could be a few ways how the club "know" the identities of various people, it doesn't mean Pete or any other mod for that matter gave them to them. Unfair to suggest otherwise ATM I think.

I'd be amazed if Pete had done anything contrary to the rules.

Maybe we've Den's hacker to contend with too?

boring really....

For example, I've exchanged a few PM's with AC and given him my name as a courtesy and I know others have done similar. I suspect that's how their knowledge database has grown over the years. I doubt Pete will have to be shot as a conspirator. A good thrashing might suffice.

Just putting the question out there. Nige has clearly been informed that details have been passed on. This is where your administrator needs to come out and make a statement of clarification. Might as well flog our email addresses to spamming companies if this is the case.

Forgot all about the MI5 hacker amongst the bobs board mafia. Has to be freelander2. The guy has brilliant detective skills.
