Is he worth the 5k he's on?
Earlier in the season I said ship him back. Now, I think he is earning it. Must be the Wilson effect!
So, come end of season and fingers crossed we still in L1, would we fork out 5k for his services for the next term? I think there is a deal to be done there, wether a straight 5k or lower wage with some sort of bonus.
He's on 14 goals this season. If he gets to 19/20, I think we should try and secure him for next season.

The general consensus is that not only are we paying him in the region of 5k a week but also he's getting around another 10k from Birmingham whilst on loan here. I would imagine a championship club will probably get him for around 7/8k a week next season.highly improbable he'll be here next season!

Why do you think he would take such a pay drop to come to town?

That's been mentioned before but the reply was he signed the deal before the new wage cap was implemented.

Why would Danny Wilson effect your poor judgement?

We don't know what proportion of his salary we are paying or what is demands will be for a permanent contract probably in L1 will be but they'll be a few in the queue ahead of us

Make the best of him right now. Hopefully he will score plenty for us to put himself in the shop window come end of season.
We will worry about what to do next season.

I'm saying Wilson has implemented something to get Novak firing on all cylinders- Saunders did not.
May be with certain players shipped out we might be able to afford Novak.
But the Novak who played under Saunders and the Novak who plays under Wilson are two different players according to my poor judgment

How much per week would you go to in order to keep him?

That may be the case but he seems to have signed his contract before any such cap came in.

Signed in May 2013 on a three-year deal.

This article suggests a 5k wage cap was introduced in the year to June 2015.

Lee Novak's Birmingham City career is not dead and buried. He has been watched by one of their scouts five or six times this season and the opinion is he's getting better as his match sharpness improves. He may well leave them but they see him improving and showing some of the form that took him to the club.

I think he is a fantastic player and will enjoy the last couple of months but there is no way on this earth he will be here next term.

He as acknowledged his Birmingham career is over in interviews.

Bet our newly discovered brethren up the A61 sucks him in assuming they don't go up

Yep, he might be rubbish next game, like every other single player in the world.

He may well leave Birmingham but they have been and watched him half a dozen times to see his progress.

In which games has he been rubbish in the last few weeks? He has scored 9 in his last 11 games, and, certainly in the home games, worked as tirelessly for the team as anyone.

Either a straight 5k and a decent length to his contract or something lower with built in bonus.

I haven't really dug into his injury record, I'm assuming he plays most of the games per season

DA can afford anyone if he wants to. No point taking it all to the grave with you.
