Scenario: most players put in no effort, we lose, they are booed at full time; are you saying that the players will stay on the pitch and acknowledge such a response? Regardless of what Saunders did (I was a vehement critic from day one), DW hasn't really done much better and some of his signings, tactics and performances shouldn't go without criticism. You'd think with such a vital match at stake that players wouldn't need anything to help their cause; their motivation should be obvious......we will see what transpires.

So you think if we're 1-0 down, that booing or heckling them will help us win? There is enough time to make your feelings known after the whistle has gone. The players will already be nervous, they know what the atmosphere has been like for the last few home games, they know what it's like for the fans to get on thir backs as soon as someone puts a foot wrong. How about surprise them and actually support the team for the whole 90 minutes and maybe, just maybe we as fans can help the team over the line. Is it really too much to ask to support the team whilst they're on the pitch and if we do lose, then let the board/team/management know how you feel? Obviously you pay your money and can do what you want, but we're talking 1 match to hopefully save our season.

Again I'll say it, the performance will get the level of support it deserves so it's over to the team as far as I can see.
As for helping the team over the line, they are professionals and this is how they earn their living, on Saturday they should be able to go out in front of an empty stadium with the right spirit and motivation.
Get on the front foot and amongst them early doors and the crowd will be there.
If you do what you always do, you'll get what you always get.

Maybe if the players had shown the same desire on the pitch as the supporters have off it then we probably would not be in the position we find ourselves in. For the amount of rubbish the team have produced all season then I am surprised the crowd didn't turn on them earlier. In all honesty not that I agree with booing during the game I believe the team deserve all the criticism they receive, but it should be when the games are over

Set up a DT Spireites Facebook page for further debate (and promotion)

https://www.facebook.com/DTSpireites/

If it goes the way of the club Facebook page I wouldn't expect to much intelligent debate!!

The comments on the club Facebook page make Warfey read like Shakespeare. They show what a decent standard of debate we have on this board.

Regarding barracking/encouragement, I have changed my mind and on Saturday, as soon as Banks neshes a tackle or Dan Gardner back-heels one to a ballboy, I'll be booing from the bowels of my belly. Until the final whistle AND BEYOND.

This kind of logic is lost on me. If a player is not putting in the desired effort during the 90 minutes, surely he should be told so at the time and not after?

Where's Stents btw with the figures breakdown to back up his 20% argument?

I did as instructed and booed for 90 minutes. It didn't work
