Is Caldwell for real? Reed has some talent but has not led on the field, from what I have seen so far...?

A bit of a pointless (no pun intended) statement Gary! Impressing the manager by being `the biggest leader' in the dressing room is relatively meaningless unless those qualities are taken out onto the pitch, and Reed's recent displays have deteriorated to such a degree that, like the majority of the team he's been woeful. Energy and enthusiasm doesn't make up for lack of application and experience - and running around like a headless chicken doesn't help the cause but merely highlights the inadequacies & problems in midfield. If Louis Reed is the `biggest leader' in the dressing room, perhaps that's his best position at the moment - and you should leave him there?

What's more worrying is if that is true, then we apparently have a loanee who cares more than the players actually employed by this club. I mean if COG, Hird, Evatt, Weir etc are not showing any dressing room leadership compared to a 20 year old loanee then no wonder we struggle

The team is full of players with no confidence to take the ball forward, or even pass it forward, and he is one of the worst at the moment. He showed in the pre season friendly v Rotherham what he is capable of, great skill on the ball at this level, an eye for a pass and tigerish (cub) tackling.
However he has perhaps shown us why Wilder never picked him for a competitive match last season, a different lad when it matters, no confidence to retain the ball or go forward with it; what remains is the tackling and that is not coming off at the moment.

An excellent assessment - that's what I meant when I said his performances had deteriorated. Not saying he doesn't show promise - but that's not what we need right now.
Edit: Looks like he's woken up! Nice goal.....

Tooley has just said on Peak it's more of the same tonight from Reed. Too many sideways passes, no running with the ball.
Edi, Reed has just got the message!
