and the gamble could well have paid off, "if it hadn't been for those pesky kids" (signed in January)

I think it was suggesting the type of players we'd signed, virtually all with zero L1 experience, was a gamble.

We should definitely be in there competing.

When he was returning from injury Danny W played Conor as an attacking wide midfielder in the reserves, much like Bolton use Ameobi, and he was really effective. I think this is an opportunity to acquire a player who is not particularly well liked anywhere outside Town into a major asset because he is big, skilful, versatile, and he has a rapport with supporters.
I'm convinced Danny would have gone for him. Go for it Ashley!! Dennis and Conor is the way forward.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

whilst i rate him, he's another player who seems to have trouble keeping injury free, can we afford this kind of risk?

My only doubt is his fitness. He always seemed to be carrying one leg to me and never 100% fit. Other clubs supporters have questioned his attitude.

Now, if he could prove he is fully fit and prepared to apply himself then he would definitely be on my radar.

Not sure about playing him wide but agree Dennis and Conor upfront (if they get service and stay fit) is a 35-40ish goal partnership in league 2

I'd imagine there will be a couple of clubs in for him who he would prefer over us anyway, to be fair I cant blame him.

So we have AC saying we have to get players signed at the start of summer as we don't want to be picking up scraps later.

Now we have GB saying we don't want to get caught in the mad rush at the start of summer.

Do these clowns ever ever agree to a party line? Maybe they should turn off the contradictory message service for their own good.

I know there's a pressure applied to season ticket sales with good news being spread, but sometimes no news is better. If none of these offers for the five "very, very good players" aren't accepted then GB becomes the shiniest, newest tool we have at CFC.

Just announce the signings if as and when they happen.
