Was the development school paying wright and orrel so they could promote them as success stories? I seem to remember these 2 were published on a website as coming through the school even though orrel was signed from a team in the north east (Sunderland?) and wasn't wright from the youth system?

Certainly the case with Wright, in fact I recall talk of him registering for the first team just for this purpose. His debut arose almost by accident as we had no one else to put on the bench.

Orrell (signed from Gateshead) was always down as a first team player, because he was the right age the DC did later seek to claim he'd got his chance through them which was a lie

According to Carson, Chesterfield were hit in the pocket by the strength of the opposition some had when Evans joined last summer. “Ched came to us, we took risks at the time, there was financial impact in terms of some fans that chose to stay away, sponsors that chose to stay away,” he said. “But Ched joined us at no cost and we’ve sold him for a fee.

Anyone else angered about the above quote from Carson, Seems it's ok to lose sponsors and fans then as he's been sold for cash to cover it $$$$$

Then again. Is there a possibility that they backed their manager and suffered the consequences?
