I like the bit where he says it was the years before he was involved, 3-5 years yet he was here when we moved from Saltergate.

The man has no shame. Lies, damn lies, and Carsons lips moving.

So Allen now wants the four million he originally paid.

Like Tesco adding a couple of quid to the price of summat then telling folk they're getting a bargain when they knock that two quid off.

And what about the shares he's handed to friends and family - are they included in the four mil'?

Hmmm...

If someone invests in a business only for that business to fail, surely it's utterly unrealistic for them to expect to recoup all their investment.

The business is only worth what someone is prepared to pay.

That said football is unlike any other industry due to the passionate loyalty of supporters.

If we were just customers who behaved as such, turning our backs when the service or product became unacceptable, maybe fewer football clubs would abuse that loyalty.
Never underestimate the stupidity of people

I give Ashley credit for openly admitting what happened. He could easily have said for example that the cash was a short term loan to CFC which was quickly paid back. Thinking on though, the strict cross charging auditing rules between these financially independent companies would have picked that up. Silly me.

Why would a company which owes all this money to creditors including scholars and their parents be used to facilitate payments to CFC employees?
You are right Ashley, it's a mystery. The question is, are you going to get to the bottom of it? Somebody at CFC must have asked Sutcliffe to process the transactions.

One thing that strikes me is that these young CFC footballers might never have received all the wages they were entitled to.

Ashley, is it your responsibility to check?
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

I can't get my head around the value of the share price. We have sold the crown jewels, we have also got rid of any assets that were supposed to be there before such as Gboly, O'Shea, Evans & Raglan. We have fallen into division 2 and the crowds have disappeared. Season Tickets have dropped like a lead balloon, the banqueting income has dropped, sponsors have walked away and we have more bad publicity than the rest of the bottom two leagues put together. We still have £7.5M debt (nearly £2M on the mortgage & just over £5.5M on loans). There is also the loans owed to the other ex-directors and spiralling employment costs.

It is far from a ready made company, it is only a work in progress company because it wants topping & bottoming. There is potential but at the asking price it is still too far fetched and unrealistic. If it was a successful team with a healthy trading balance with a well balanced cash flow, then I'm sure more suitors would have taken a look, but..... and this is a more realistic view. The SHARES aren't worth £0.20p each!!!

The first rule of thumb in any business is to make sure you understand finances and balance sheets, if only DA had used his money wiser and appointed a person who was capable of just that.

BH ran a tight ship and had the support of AW at Saltergate & at the beginning of our move to the Proact, why oh why has it gone so horribly wrong? We can all blame individuals but I'm sorry Mr Allen this is down to you and you alone. You have allowed people to ruin everything that you brought to our football club.

One thing that DA & AC haven't grasped yet, is that Chesterfield is not part of Sheffield, we are not in South Yorkshire and our club means more to us than a business venture that has gone horribly wrong. Take a hit now and walk away. Thank you for putting us into a new stadium and accepting a challenge that BH gave you from day 1, but now is the time to cut your losses.

This club needs more Jim Browns, lost sponsors & lost fans back before it can claim any success in the future. It needs fans in each department that would work for the benefit of the club.

Here's a thing. The non-playing CFC staff who were paid by the DS I can understand, as they may have fulfilled some function for the DS separate to their employment with CFC, on a freelance basis, say. The players, though? The whole business model of the DS (yeah, bear with me!) relies on players paying the DS to play, rather than the other way around. What were Wright and the others "employed" for at the DS, that made it look like they were being paid for DS work?

This is two financially and legally separate companies, each is paying the other's bills, and the Company Secretary of one has fessed up that to a local newspaper. I hope that today's Carsonism doesn't somehow open the club up to third-party claims from the DS liquidators.

Was the development school paying wright and orrel so they could promote them as success stories? I seem to remember these 2 were published on a website as coming through the school even though orrel was signed from a team in the north east (Sunderland?) and wasn't wright from the youth system?
Here we go again!
