Yet another example of the sheer incompetence of those running are club. Any professional organisation would not let this happen. Then again we don't make mistakes.

Quote

“Any transfer fee we can get, I got told in the meeting last week that if at all possible, some of that will go back into the funds for next season”

Picture the scene:

GC in August: We've sold a player. How much of that can I have to get a replacement?
AC: Sorry, Gary. It's not at all possible to to give you some of the funds. Smudger has a few good prospects, you should blood another one of those in the first team
GC: Can we bring in a loan signing?
AC: No. Best you can hope for is a free transfer arranged by Guy. Maybe in the next transfer window.

GC in January: We've sold a player.

Then just repeat for however many seasons you want to...

Why are financial packages needed for OOC players? Surely they're paid till the end of their deal (June 30th?) and that's it?

Puzzles me, too.

Can't see CFC saving a great deal over the course of, what; two months? And surely a few extra weeks ain't gonna make too much difference in terms of a player finding a new club, either.

We have probably got league place even though relegated and win bonus's to factor in

Can only assume they hope players take bigger lump of May pay to not have any in June

OOC players' contracts end 30th June but they are due to a further months pay (called 'redundancy'). Sometimes an early settlement is agreed as a termination thus saving some tax and NI, which can be quite substantial 'cos they can cover April, May, June, July.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

How can pride be at stake when you have none? The players threw away any pride this club had a long time ago.
