If we are paying him any money at all whilst he's not fit to play (not injured), nver mind the amounts being bandied around then I'd prefer it if we went for the stick approach rather than the carrot

yes, as he'll be 22 by then, but seeing as we picked him up on a free at 19, I can't see us getting that much at a tribunal, depending on where he signs etc.
