Were the UK based scholars evicted from the CFC Village to accommodate higher paying foreign scholars.

The 35 scholars residing in the village did so at a monthly cost of £400 each, this paid for board and lodgings, football training and education.

The continued existence of the company relies on these fees to pay all of the bills and running costs incurred.

A member of the accounts staff failed to inform Liam Sutcliffe and Chris Turner that a large number of parents were not paying the fees as and when they should creating serious cash flow problems.

When this problem came to light meetings were held with all the parents individually and it was agreed that all scholars would travel in daily in future at a reduced fee.

This proposal was pretty much generally welcomed as 31 of the scholars continued on this basis.

Two more who lived too far away for this to be practical were found alternative training/educational scholarships nearer to home with the help of Liam Sutcliffe.

Only two scholars parents chose to have their contracts cancelled.

Incorrect. I could name a minimum of ten scholars that have left.
And if allegedly a few parents were not paying, why get rid of them all?

I'm afraid that response alone tells you everything.

Directors of small businesses manage cash flow. Do Turner & Sutcliffe not request details of the debtors' list on a weekly/monthly basis? What happens when fees aren't paid on time, who chases the debt? Who asks the question, will there be sufficient funds to clear the short term liabilities at the month end?

This is basic stuff, clearly too basic for the Directors of this business to understand. What is perfectly clear, whether it be the DC or CFC, it's always someone else's fault.

I wonder if the member of the accounts department that you refer to is a salaried member of CFC's staff?

If this is true why allegedly are multiple scholars parents now owed rent back that was pre paid before eviction plus deposits made upon signing?

Smh.

I am in laymans terms, a long term supporter of this club, who is worried about the pebble in the pond theory.
Any wrong doings or actions that are allegedly done in the slightest possible bad intention, have a ripple effect on the youngsters who may/may not be the future of this club.
If this whole thing causes mistrust, no faith, and forces parents to steer clear of CFC junior football, then the future of this club by definition has or might be jeopardised.
So whether I've ever been employed by the club or not is irrelevant to the actual alleged actions of others.

I agree. Turner got one thing right though. Someone must have drawn him a picture.

That's fine but we are not privy as to the standing of this person in the business, it could be an office junior, it could be a family member god forbid. The over riding thing staring any business person in the
face ia a complete lack of business acumen.

Sorry guys this has popped up in the wrong place, should be with the cash flow comments . Arghhhhhhh.

Thanks for your efforts with this spireitenag...

The response only really answered part of the question you posed though! Namely why UK scholars left the village, it doesn't answer whether or not higher paying foreign scholars have subsequently been shipped in and if profit is being put before ability!

I suppose it's a case of do we believe Turnip and his explanation. Still too many unanswered questions for me. Stinks of damage limitation from CFC or is it the development centre it's so confusing!! Thanks Nige for attending the HASTILY arranged meeting which suggests a degree of panic to me. Just my opinion of course. Come on you blues 3 points today please. All the best Sammy Spireite your better out of it and back on the terraces with the fans. They can't take that away from you can they. I too won't be buying 50/50 tickets for the first time today.

If we aren't chasing income due it's unlikely we will be looking at expenditure

Spot on. This also begs the simple question of whether all these fees are paid in advance. Certainly in the property rental business it's industry standard, so that bad debt management kicks in early. These responses are just predictable, stupid, condescending, waffle.

Extrapolate that to CFC and you see why CFC is losing money

Even if we accept Turner's comments at face value, that an apparently lax attitude to the DC business has led to the current situation, it only underlines the question of his suitability as CEO of the multi-million pound CFC.

And of course it's always someone else's fault...

A very pertinent question.

Do the DC/PPP employ any office staff?
