Leam never mentioned the friendship when here, can't think why.... As both are from Leeds I expect it goes back well before Sutcliffe arrived here.

I expect they met when they were both goalkeepers in the Football League with Bradford City...

You have to shake your head and wonder.

"I think they can take their eyes off the ball and forget that they are role models themselves," he says. "They forget why they wanted to become a player in the first place – I often use the phrase that they like being a footballer but don't like the football.

"You see the top players up to twice a week on the pitch, but what you don't always get to witness is that dedication behind the scenes; the diet, when they go to bed, how they train. It's about the discipline that you have in your routine, and the sacrifices you're willing to make at any level. You certainly need to be humble throughout and work as hard as you possibly can every day."

With covid-19 having swept the globe and affected every corner of industry in 2020, football clubs will inevitably need to readjust this summer. With finances affected and the futures of hundreds of senior footballers up in the air, might this be the summer where English football's promising youth players get more opportunities to shine?

"Depending on how clubs are being run will depend on what their recruitment will be like this summer," Richardson says. "If squads become smaller, then it will give academy lads more of an opportunity. For the lads who are possibly going to fall out of the game, it can only be a good thing for them. The more homegrown talent that we can get on our pitches, it can only improve the bigger picture."

If these are Richardson's words I'm a jellyfish.

Prochance can provide an elite environment, inluding full board and lodgings, for rejected youngsters to better understand the core requirements of dedication, humility, and discipline than they were taught previously?

Smaller pro-squads means academy lads have a better opportunity?

Jibberish.

If anyone falls for it and loses money it'll be hard to offer much sympathy. 30 seconds online searching his name will be ample warning to anyone tempted by the bolluxspeak.

This thread ought to be required reading for every parent thinking of paying money to Sutcliffe.

If only there'd been summat like it when he arrived at Town.

If only there'd been somebody who gave a damn when there was...
Never underestimate the stupidity of people

So I just summoned the willpower to read the article and then look around the 442 website. On the "contact" banner, there's two email addresses that might be worth using:

All editorial queries to: [email protected]

and

Editor: James Andrew ([email protected])

I wonder if the editorial team might be interested in reading this thread and then responding to their article, with or without a reaction quote from Liam Sutcliffe?

Ashley has gone to great lengths to tell people that he kept his nose clean regarding this particular subject. Taking Ashley at his word, you would have thought that he would have blown Chris Turner & Liam Sutcliffe out of the water, made an example of them and ensured they never worked in, or near a reputable football club again.

377k sounds like a huge fine to me - could Isleaiw1 confirm if that sort of figure is standard for the industry?

And I know we should all be grown-ups about this, and shouldn't laugh, but BWOUGHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
