In Michael Dunford, the club employ a Chief Executive, however here is another example of Ashley breaking off from his holiday in Dubai to pass comment to the Derbyshire Times.

I am beginning to think Ashley is the main player in all of this.

So Dunford is just another DA/AC puppet.
Amazes me the amount of people who will take a pay cheque in exchange for self-respect.

poor sod.

So far this week he's had a nasty letter from the Liquidator, his right hand woman who he appointed up before the FA, and a media commentator telling everybody what a bollux he made of another of his appointees, Mr Branston.
And it's only Wednesday. Quick, pass him another sex on the beach.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

Since all these shenanigens seem to have taken place on Ashley's watch, he can't really hide behind the new CEO. Fair play to the DT's for seeking something other than a swift "Before my time, mate" from the new man.
It's nice to be able to Trust again.

The gift that keeps on giving!

Anyone want to hazard a guess at what is meant by 'a significant sum of money'?

Ł50k?

Ł100k???

Is this Liam and Chris returning fire back at CFC's hierachy??

If the claim is settled in full, I think it could well wipe out 40% to 50% of the company's debt.

let's get this straight for the layman then. What you are saying.....

is that the Liquidator has submitted a claim that the Development School, run by Sutcliffe with investment from Turner and Carson, is owed over Ł100k by Chesterfield Football Club?

We already know that the DS paid CFC wages, but surely they amount to only a fraction of Ł100k?

And so Carson’s Laundromat has been brought to a grinding halt by an expensive sock, snagged in the mechanism.

How about this for a bit of logic, when the liquidator and the EFL/FA publish their findings, a former or current employee / official of the club will have to take the rap, now I think whoever has released the information to the press about Sally Swain's charge has already decided that person will be Sally Swain.

I am adamant the person responsible for this miss is still involved in the running of the club, I am just far from convinced that person is Sally Swain.

how about this for more logic.......

Carson was made aware of the messes currently being processed by the Liquidator and EFL/FA (allegedly) in January 17 but promoted Sally in March 17. He must therefore have decided in those 2 months either that the messes weren't real or that somebody else caused them.

You know I'm not sure applying logic to all this will prove in any way helpful.

Let's be abundantly clear about what's being alleged, here.

That CFCFDS performed a succession of as yet unspecified services for CFC incurring a significant six figure cost. However instead of pursuing that money they accrued a series of CCJ's, parents, suppliers and staff went unpaid, Sutcliffe supposedly spent several months working for nowt until the business eventually went bust.

So the big question has gotta be why? What was in it for them? Or is this all just a cynical gamble, an attempt to force Carson and Allen into a deal that prevents everything coming out in court.

I smell a rat. But then we've all been smelling a procession of rats for the last three or more years...

The words ‘money’ and ‘laundering’ keep popping into my head. No idea why.

That is certainly the most disturbing thing, that innocent creditors, some being local parents have been caught up in this scheme.

Local journalists are reporting of issues at an academy. Not this one, surely!

Depends what you mean by this one. Not the youth team and academy run by Mark Smith that is part of the club. Apart from the one across the road I'm not aware of any other "academies" in Chesterfield.......

You would have thought Toby Perkins would have had sufficient gumption to decline the club's matchday hospitality instead preferring to call in Derbyshire Police, Trading Standards, English Football League, Football Association and the Revenue.
