The question of what constitutes success for a youth team is an interesting debate. On one hand you have Chelsea who have been dominating the FA youth cup and won back to back Youth champions leagues without pushing through many youngsters to the 1st team... although they have 2/3 on the periphery and about 20 out on loan at various levels as compared to say Southampton who have churned out a number of high level youngsters for their own first team.

For town if we could produce 1/2 every year or so that made the step up to the first team and have an impact on improving the squad depth that would be success for me.

Exactly that is success Beesely, Morrison, Maquire, Daly when here, German all from academy and something people may not know is there wages are covered by academy until they turn 21 through another grant you can claim for to encourage clubs to use there own free squad players with potential to step up so that can come off expenditure of the academy. Surely Rowley will be added to this list also next season .

Talking of disappearing acts, what about Liam Graham?

Well publicised he was injured playing for NZ and is out for the season and presumably that will be the end of his CFC career

Apparently he had a back injury and getting back into it recently with the youth team. That said with SEB being back and playing German probably drops down the pecking order a place.

As above, ACL? can't see him playing for town again like 90% of the current first team squad.

When/Where was his Op?

Where is he convalescing?

Who is monitoring his rehab?

What's the prognosis following his Op?

Edit: The only thing as far as I can find that Caldwell has ever stated publically about him was in a DT interview dated 17th Feb:

"He’s not back yet and I don’t think he’ll come back for the foreseeable future"

I remember watching/listening to that interview, think it was done by Graham Smyth, I got the impression Caldwell had no idea who Liam Graham was.

Think your mistaken we never got involved in the accounts software that was nothing to do with us just the laptops and internet access

Yep it's a luxury to have lost it

No the only thing we have been involved in is wifi access at the village

Steve,

See this article published in the DT on 13/12/16:

https://www.google.c...d-1-8287434/amp

On the subject of the missing accounts, the following quotes in the article are attributed to Mike Hegarty:

“I’ve seen debts on the books for a travel company, which would lead me to believe it was booked."

“That’s a debt in the old company, when I get the accounts we will look through."

If that's the case surely someone's breaking the law by withholding the accounts from the liquidator.

I've just read Graham's DT piece in the other thread, and indeed Sutcliffe is still involved. Strange that Mr Hegarty then refused to give me that information when I e mailed him.

Also quite strange, I was recently sent an invitation by FBT on LinkedIn, odd since I've been quite vocal about them. Even more odd was I received another invitation over the weekend, from non other than Mr Chris Turner himself. Needless to say I declined both as I have my reputation to think of.

To misquote 'Cameron Poe' in 'Con Air': 'There're two football academies I trust in this world. One's Mark Smith's, the other's not 'FBT'.
Never underestimate the stupidity of people

What makes this Sutcliffe bloke so invaluable that even after so much deciept and debts (is this right?) of 1/4 million he's still involved?
I don't get it. Can someone throw any light on this madness

His goose was going to lay the golden egg. In fact it did, but then the "once our youth team player but now 30 million-rated" Daniel Wong went and signed for a Spanish club and will be hatched over there.

The debt to the travel company might be for this:

http://united-sports...-Players-v1.pdf

A visit to the Five Lakes complex near Colchester, apparently undertaken by a party led by Sutcliffe in or around April 2015, going by the date on which the document was created. Oddly, the page appears to be hosted by United Sports, the Gordon Hill academy that the club once boasted a tie-up with. Absolute Sports Travel offer football tours to the Five Lakes complex. Perhaps someone with knowledge could confirm that this trip took place?
It's nice to be able to Trust again.

Watching him speak on the club's official you tube channel a couple of years ago saying how well things were going may give you an insight.....

Becoming part of the football club because they are all good guys is my favourite line

Is he any good? Is he really a £30 million player? I've never heard of him

No, still don't get it. Just a bloke waffling on, and not something that would make me overlook 1/4 million quid

Me neither, presenting the interview was tongue in cheek, more than a hint of the David Brent's about him, how anybody doesn't see him for what he is, the complete bullshitter, is beyond me.
