Well, I'm no expert but I would have thought that with extensive car parking, a pavilion, and 3 all weather pitches, it might be perfect for Academy training sessions.

Massive news to be released in the next 72 hours. Read it here first!@ChesterfieldFC
So 'massive news' about the supposedly separate @CFCINTACADEMY can be read first @ChesterfieldFC?
Maybe it'll be some sort of link between CFC and PPP being announced...

Slight aside....never knew there was a boule/pétanque court up there. Play loads in holiday and looking at putting one in the garden but being able to play up there would be good!

There is. I think there's even a Chesterfield club. I know because I live next to the park and have seen the signs. I'm not a petanquist !?,

Yes there is...cunningly called Chesterfield Pétanque Club! Just been looking it up on the net. There is a massive boule set up in one of the Mansfield parks so no idea if there is a big local derby!!

I'm genuinely interested in your views on why.
They are inviting comment, so if the plans only needed tweaking in order to make them suitable, you could write and tell 'em. In fact, we could all support you.

Just not big enough the town needs a proper football hub which can host grassroots keagues for the young uns and provide 3g football for all grassroots teams through to full size, you only have to look at belper and they have better facilities than us..we need a 3g the size of shirebrook if not double the size.

What about Stand Road parkand the old fire station land. Now that to me would seem ideal seeing as car parking etc is at The Proact.
iF THAT SITE WAS DEVELOPED WE COULD EVEN CHARGE MATCH DAY PARKING TOWARDS THE CENTRE.

I'm not sure what rules there are still standing over the sale of the land, when we were still stationed there there were some specifics like the buyers had to be building a place of employment and I think there was a stipulation about how many jobs created, but that was a long time ago.
