However my good friend was given early morning tasks by his wife which precluded that departure time. To be honest it's no bad thing really as we get to Wigan at 12.37 and I'm sure that gives us plenty of drinking time (after train drinks of course).

we just have the 9.20 departure as our de facto train for anything manchesterish. creatures of habit.
think we'll be in wigan at about 12.30 after an hour or so in manc.
