The clubs chasing Sam Morsy are Ipswich, Brighton, Wigan and Pompey. However Sam has once again stated career progression is his priority. Town have made no new offer.

Wilson is saying the squad's adequate in public but knows otherwise. He's hardly gonna tell players he's relying upon they're not good enough. However the Chairman is adamant the budget has been spent and DW will have to move out to move in. To this end the Manager is hoping to bring in a young Irish defender from Sheffyoo, yet Gnanduillet leaving is a factor. Worryingly no other Town players look near an exit either through lack of interest from other clubs or unwillingness on their part.

I guess this pretty much echoes other stuff going around so discuss or discard at your leisure.

Heard the same ......listening to DW no confirmed bids from anybody as yet....worse case scenario if we lose Sam towards the end of the window it will have to be for the benefit of the club and he would hope to have the time to replace. Nobody in till players go out...who will go I don't know...the AG money if it comes off will free up a bit plus the savings from Cairns....know Morgs is in regular contact with the lad from the blunts....he's aware of the situation and he's really keen to make the move.

Maybe losing SM on the cheap and using any scraps we get to strengthen in other areas is a goer.

Survival is the goal and we're gonna need some numbers for inevitable suspensions/injuries.

(not that I want sm to leave btw)
Here we go again!

I'm told the Cairns savings are negligible in terms of player salaries.

Would the saving on his and armands wages (plus transfer fee?) make 1 decent players wage up?

Doesn't Wood going back to Rotherscum free up another wage?

I'd stab at Cairns 200pw Armand 400 plus 10k fee, so not a lot

Depends how you view it. According to DA we're 'over' budget anyway.

If we're over budget then it's obviously not big enough or we have spent it very unwisely.

Forgetting about what I'm hearing on the radio right now but do we need to be making a few changes to the team to stay up?
Like I've said before, we've took a good team in Coventry to the brink of defeat, we knocked Shrewsbury for seven. A creative midfielder would have a field day with us so if we can bring one in then we should be alright. We've now got a manager that seems to be tapping into the teams way of thinking and adding to it so wholesale changes would be rocking the boat too much again wouldn't they?
Life goes on. Whatever happens.

Turnip put it down to the signings of SEB and Novak

Wonder how much all those contract extensions contributed

A lot being said about this lad, are we paying for him? Free transfer? I certainly hope we aren't loaning him

He is rated highly made a few 1st team appearances but not many. Played for rep Ireland at every youth level so far. He is from Chesterfield (poolsbrook) Apparently Morgan said to him on his good byes to the u21 team that he will be seing him soon.

Totally agree regarding Novak. Now he appears match fit he is looking very good indeed and I sincerely hope we can keep him for the rest of the season.

I'm not sure. My concern is that if Novak is not an expensive flop for the remainder of the season for us and he puts in the level of performance we are now witnessing from him, he will surely be a target of Championship clubs. He certainly looks Championship quality of late.

My concern is that Birmingham call him back to sell him in this window.
