Just watched it again on SKY, Novak was offside and both Bolly bookings were dives. Pity because we played brilliant today, Bolly was motm just a shade from O' Niel who had by far his optician.

If they were dives having seen them i am not convinced but we can blame Chris Morgan for his input to the players and we did get two vs Shrewsbury.....

What are you on about? What has Chris Morgan got to do with anything?

In the Sky highlights their keeper quite clearly dives the correct way for Gbolys shot, meaning he wasn't unsighted. The ball then hit their defender and the deflection took the ball away from the keepers dive and into the net. Novak appeared to be in an offside position, but being as he didn't touch the ball or in a anyway hinder the keepers sight or movement then he shouldn't have been flagged offside. They got it wrong it's as simple as that.

Totally agree and Novak was making a pretty deliberate attempt to get out the way

Lack of protest from the Rochdale players speaks volumes

Why a few on here are claiming the opposite is baffling. Just being contrary I suppose

I've only watched it once and in my opinion the goal should have stood.

I don't think he dived having seen it, but Morgan says if you feel contact then within reason give the ref a decision to make.....

He certainly gave the ref a decision to make with the second "dive" ! for gods sake at 3-1 up with 5 mins to play and a yellow already for diving stay on your feet unless you're hacked down! Come on DW have a quiet word with the lad!

Well I'm flabbergasted that people on here think that Bolly should have been sent off and that the goal was offside. I have just watched the goals and although I knew the score, I was still shouting great goal as Bollys shot went in - I assumed I'd read the score wrong. I also screamed penalty when Bolly went down, he's definitely caught, ok he might have left his leg in there to get caught - but if the defender is stupid enough that's his problem. If a winger had done that to a Town defender we would be having a go at the defender for not being stronger and brighter (well I would) and not calling the winger a cheat. I'm pleased that Bolly is at last making defenders look like muppets, long may that continue. Lets hope the next few refs aren't as blind as this one! COYB

I can understand why the goal was disallowed, even if it does seem harsh.

Under the new rules, anyone deemed to be interfering with play whether they touch it or not is offside, and even though the keeper had already dived before the deflection off the defender, when the Lino only gets one chance to see it, I can see why he ruled it off.

That's the thing though, the Lino didn't rule it off, left his flag down by his side.both ref and Lino had given the goal, it's only when a cpl of Rochdale players moaned that they decided to change their minds!

So we've been away from home at an outfit who've become a bit of a bogey side, played twelve as the saying goes, had two goals disallowed and a man sent off yet still come away with three points.

I'll take that every week.

Good old JL was the master of diving coupled with his obvious talent. Maybe Bolly has decided to do the same with his game.
Defenders were markedly afraid to go anywhere near Jack especially in the box and even then with his reputation he still conned many a ref.

I agree. Ridiculous decision. I don't think that Boly's second yellow was the worst dive I have ever seen either, and it seemed to be of the type that rarely gets a card, let alone a second yellow.

Summed it up. If there is any doubt at all it is neither a foul, a dive, a yellow card, nor a penalty. Play should just continue.

But, the actions of the ref suggest he was in no doubt and for him to come to that decision in a split-second is beyond me. The man wanted further applause from his new found band of followers.

And yet it's still annoying we didn't get 5!

Still, we've still scored more than Barcelona this year and they've had a game more. Also we've got more in those 2 games than man utd have since October in the league
Here we go again!
