Thought we had moved on from FCUM's situation actually but obviously not

As you are still at your attention seeking best and still banging on about it, didn't these fans eventually reject the owners and commercialisation and set up a grass roots club. I don't see how that is hypocritical unless they watch Manure when FCUM are away (unlikely) or subscribe to Sky Sports (more likely)

Yeah kind of ironic that Carty bangs on about attention seeking with the amount of puerile stuff he posts on the football league forums!

Does anyone know why they still sing man united songs? If they want nothing more to do with them maybe they should sing new songs not associated with United. Thought the singing about city and Leeds was cringeworthy personally.

If CFC folded they would reform as phoenix club with no debt and would probably be a 'fan owned' club with an IPS structure like FCUM or CFSS

Surely that would be worthwhile
If CFC reformed as phoenix club would they play all their games at night?

Thought that at the match, said to father in law, Busby Babes NEVER played for FCUM when they sang about them, personally it would be more appropriate if they were called Soccer Club United of Manchester

Whilst I hope (due to their Man U connections) that FCUM lose every game between now and the end of eternity (unless they play AFC Liverpool), I wholly agree with their views re the reporter on the touchline thing. I do not want to see what is going on in the dressing room at half time. I do not want the managers etc to be questioned while the game is going on. It's not that I'm not a bit interested but just let them get on with their jobs FFS and get the reporters get back behind the Fing barrier. Sooner or later there's going to be a set-to when one of the managers gets interrupted when shouting out tactics or when something important happens and he misses it, then the manager will probably end up getting an FA charge for what he says/does.

It felt like we were being shown a video of a funeral following the body going into the burning chamber interviewing some of the crying mourners, or at a battlescene inappropriately asking some guy bleeding to death for a close up of the blood and then asking if it hurt.

The reporting was Bo11ocks, teams being described as "Step 7", which they clearly aren't as they wouldn't be in FA Cup in the first place if they were. and GET THAT IAN WRIGHT OFF THE TV. If he is going to be that blatantly biased (in favour of Salford City in this instance), then he shouldn't be interviewed. He just winds everybody up. Even Sky have stopped Phil Thompson watching the Liverpool matches. It's embarrassing.

They're Step 6 (Salford are Step 7) - why wouldn't they be in the FA Cup in that case? Makes no sense that comment

Agree about Ian Wright though - absolutely hate the bloke (and there aren't many people I hate)!

Completely agree, feel a bit sorry for the long standing Salford fans who chose to support a lower exposure non league club instead of Man U as some of them said in the documentary

Step and level are not the same.

Step 1 is level 5, so step 7 is Central Midlands league North for example.

Ok but no one refers to levels do they?
I think the step system is universally used in football

Well i hadn't any opinion of these who went to set this club up, but now having drawn them i can't abide them i am just thankful we gave them a good footballing lesson, how the hell can you moan when someone is giving you £67500, i bet Dave Allen climbed up the floodlight pylon waving a fist full of £50 notes shouting HALLELUJAH......

The "Step" system is a non-league classification system. Salford play at Tier 7, or Level 7 or whatever-you-want-to call-it 7 but not step 7. The Conference is Step 1 (level/tier 5). Alfeton Town are Step 2. Step 7 is a level for intermediate football - Sussex League Division 3. Not sure what the equivalent is in Derbyshire, but either way the FA handbook/rules don't allow you to enter the FA Cup as a Step 7 side.

Fair enough if that's not general knowledge for supporters of league clubs, but if you are a professional body televising a game and holding yourself out to be experts, you ought to know better.

To be fair though everyone in football refers to the steps

A view from their kop

Stood on their kop (I got a leaning point, a necessity) 2nd half as I did a few weeks ago v Buxton

After a few days thought I've concluded the singing was ritualistic rather than impassioned support. the repertoire was virtually the same as a few weeks previous (excluding the dislike for BT and some high pitched poofy squealing type song) There seemed very little interest in the game (the score could be a valid reason) and more interest in trying to put on a show so much so that the crowd reminded me of poorly produced "crowd" scenes from the 60/70s cult programmes the "Avengers" or the "Prisoner" Conversation was more bawdy bar room with nothing about the action on the pitch.

However the reason for this post is to highlight something I found (the prude that I am) disturbing, in the final minutes they managed to raise and continue the f... BT chant. I witnessed parents (several) whilst holding their small off spring (4 to 8 year olds)on the barriers with one arm and gesticulating with the other whilst screaming F...BT in some sort of frenzy. A frenzy that appeared to be contagious because it certainly affected the small ball boys as they bounced up and down with the same gesticulations and shouts like their peers behind them. I must sympathise with a young girls mother, when dad having done his duty got home told the mother to take their child upstairs and read her a story, the mother would be embarrassed when young Busby asked her "mam whats a f'... BT?"

If you're not some sort of exhibitionist after 2 or 3 visits watching FCUM would get tiresome

Oh and for the person who threw the smoke (if that's what it was) bomb ___You tw@

Not worthy of a new thread but may as well bring up the old discussion about it as it seems all is not well behind the scenes at FCUM!!
