If it's a Monday evening tie, as its suggested it will be, I can't see it being possible to get a return train after the match has finished.

I've got a train back to Manchester after home games midweek before so potentially could be doable the other way round.

Talk of a few lads I know doing a minibus and taking afternoon off - whereas I live 10 mins from the ground and will probably have to make do in the home end if anything at all. The regular fan has no chance of tickets here. Usual deductions for players/sponsors must be about 200 you'd think.

10.29 from Picadilly I think. 10pm taxi from somewhere near the ground, even time for a pint after.

Likes of Raglan and Banks may take a few up but cant see the wives, girlfriends etc flocking to Manchester on a Monday night. I think its highly unlikely that just sponsors and these player ones are going to take up over half the allocation. Do sponsors even get first dibs on away tickets?

Yep, got tickets for Mansfield, Derby and Burton in recent years via friends who know people who sponser the club. Believe they can get a fair few if needs be too..

You would be surprised at the number of "freebies" the club gives out. Look at the revenue lost here for a start!
And I don't mean for wags.

But the club advertise perks for situations like these. If they didn't honour their word they'd risk even fewer season ticket sales.

It's just the way it is.

Anyone else have Bruce Hornsby in their head now? Just me? Carry on.

you might need to reference 2Pac, too, to cover the full age range of this board.

Ashley what are the chance of the club coming out with a statement in support of the FC United one? Their statement and offer to fans is class, and a real swipe at the FA and the TV culture - which I fully agree with.

Yeah DA should also donate his cut to the local donkey/dog/pigeon sanctuary

Meanwhile assuming I don't get a ticket, I'll reluctant sit at home with a glass of Port watching the game live

Should do something in my eyes - our fans have lost out on a good day out etc here - FC United are doing more to help our fans than our own club as of yet. The voucher albeit only £1 and the call to BT for them to subsidise tickets and travel for our fans are good gestures even if tokens.

Must admit the I actually agree with their attitude towards televised games, lots of people do that are effected. You could guarantee if the tie had been at Chesterfield and had been moved there'd be loads of moans oh here

I am also happy the FA overruled them in this case.

Nice touch about the voucher although it smacks a bit of PR (but good PR)

AS far as CFC doing something, lets face it travel costs aren't anymore expensive on a Saturday than they are on a Monday night. I also think CFC would have to agree to the £10 price anyway, so they have done something
