Probably will never get tried I know but when Charlie Raglan joined us from our FA Cup opponents wasn't it said he could play at CB or midfielder?

Looking at that monster Scunthorpe had - Tom King - as their defensive midfielder I'd be tempted, at least in practice, to try Charlie there to give us a prospective team of -

Lee
Herd, Evatt, Wood, Jones
Raglan, Morsy
O'Shea, Novaks, Blake, Gardner

Subs: Chapman, Hird, Talbot, Ariyibi, Simons, O'Neil, Manni

That's leftfield, I'll give you that.

Personally I think that's madness. I see nothing at all in CR to think he can do a job there.

It isn't - midfield and right back are the problem areas and to be specific far too little pressure on the ball.
While a left footed CB gives the side a more natural balance, I agree with the point your making. Stop the ball coming into the box first. Defend from the front. This is similar to what Sheridans sides weakness was.

Jack King - they signed him from Preston. He did look effective, I agree. Rowe was a pain for our lads to play against, too. A good combination, that pair.
These go to eleven.

Wood is a very good organiser. I'll stick my neck out here and say that if they can stay together, Evo and Wood will be as good as 'owt in the division at CB. The first thing he will do is make sure the players around him are standing in the right place, doing their job properly.

I felt a bit sorry for an improving Herd. His almighty cock up last weekend was when he was filling in at LB, ready to withstand a break by Scunthorpe from our free kick, and he panicked. Up until then, the performance of the whole team was flat, but we were doing ok.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

Wood scored 3 in ten games for Crawley last season. Good to see he wasn't part of the team that was slaughtered up here.

Is Wood similar to Evo in style? If so, and they play together I fear for us when we play sides who don't just aim to batter us, but play on the floor and aim to get behind us. Which is what Pressley was hinting at in his post Wood departure interview.

Or does Wood have more speed and better feet?

Phil T's tweet on Friday was an interesting one, suggesting that Wood has always been a favourite of DA's.

We tried to sign Wood 2 years ago...

I don't know, but I would suspect not. They spot danger better than other players and they will play deeper. Ridley and Green.

Ridley was the guy though who could play with his feet also. Moreover, in those days twin centre halves played against twin strikers; bit of a rarity now.
