I agree with that up to a point, but what if his actions aren't playing very well with the players? (I don't know that there is an issue there, by the way). I have been reading quite a lot of The Secret Footballer recently; footballers don't need much to lose faith in what the manager does and doesn't do. If they are looking at DS spending a fair bit of time on extra curricular stuff, and start grumbling to each other about it, there's a good chance there will be a knock-on effect in the effort they put in for him.
