I'd rather have 'proper' clubs like Stockport, Lincoln, Grimsby etc in the league than non-entities like Fleetwood and Crawley.

Haven't they all become non entities with time ?

It wasn't that lucky, we got done that night by them not giving the ball back.

Cheating does pay in the short term, retribution however will always get you in the end. I will never forgive the club for cheating us but I feel for the fans, they didn't cheat

Probably in a pure footballing sense, but they are football towns with potential at least e.g. I'm sure Fleetwood (for example) would still struggle to pull more than 2,500 (mainly pensioners) to their games if they were in the Premier League - therefore, 'not proper' by my own vague criteria.

Fleetwood get far more than say Wigan before they chucked money at it

Fleetwood will struggle to get many more than they currently do, mainly because as a town there is only 25,000 people live there.

I think most towns would be happy if 10% of their population came to the games. We would be getting 10K a week if we could manage that.

I think Fleetwood have benefitted from the relative demise of Blackpool and the hostility their fans have for the owners - would be interesting to know how many have defected.

If Fleetwood did a Wigan plenty would watch due to size of Blackpool especially if Blackpool continue to fall

If alfreton were in the premier league yes they would attract fans that had previously shown no interest and yes if we were playing bury and they were playing arsenal they would attract some of our floaters and occasional fans. I think it would be ludicrous to think anything else tbh

Agreed but I think it would be mainly fans who had never watched us rather than defectors.

Agree. If you change your allegiance after a life time of supporting then you were never s fan in the first place.

I know a fair few that go to watch town but also watch other clubs as well. Not your die Hards or necessarily even supporters just folk that like football and will go where they fancy when they fancy. The football on offer and the opposition being part of it. You could never change your allegiance if your a one club man.

Agreed. I lived in Croydon for 6-7 years in the late 80's/early 90's and watched Palace a lot more than I did Town, mainly because I didn't fancy a 300 mile round trip to watch 4th division football when I could walk to Selhurst Park from my house to watch the likes of Ian Wright and Mark Bright scoring for fun! Though I still considered myself Town through and through.

Good news for Stockport. I don't get the dislike for them by a few on here.

Yeah, I was there when they didn't concede possession back to us when that would have been the right thing to do, and Kevin Francis was also a knobber.

However I wish them all the best, always got on with the fans I encountered, and miss a decent, easy journey away day just up over the border. Hope they make it back to the FL sooner rather than later. Similarly the likes of Lincoln and Grimsby, although the latter's fans are without doubt some of the most repulsive I've encountered.
Mug?? Being wrong never gets boring!

Lincoln and Grimsby fans aren't very receptive to away followings. God damn awful places for a drink around town pre game

Me too - I probably go to 15-20 West Ham games a season -through work mainly but have no passion when they score or win!
(Blowing bubbles at the start always gives me shivers though)

I'm surprised you've not been thrown out, often wondered what happened to Michael Jackson's monkey
