... if there is still buses put on from the town centre to the ground on match days. It used to cost a £1 each way.
Thanks in advance, haven't used public transport for ages.

Yeah - I caught one down to the ground for the Brizzle match as I couldn't get my regular lift down. Goes from outside the Regal/Zanzibar/Whatever-it-is-these-days and is still a quid.

I remember Spires from my 90's / 00's drinking exploits in Town - a genuine sticky-carpet dive with arcade machines, a pool table and cheap booze (as well as the occasional Saturday night ruck). Guess I came too late for the Wagon and Horses - but my Dad (who's in his 70s!) still refers to it as that and I have heard/read stories and it sounds pretty similar back then!

Occasional ruck? You could nigh on set your watch by it from the times i used to go in!

The painted Wagon was wrecked a few times and a collection of bruises was a bit of essential kit in there. My sister in law kept it for a number of years and my wife worked there They can tell a story or two

My god. Metz. I'd totally forgotten about that - nasty sweet stuff loved only by women and fellas with no taste for proper booze. This was the age of alcopops, I guess!

Painted Wagon was one of the best pubs in town especially Friday nights and Saturday lunch times (before the match) And not forgetting lunchtime Christmas parties when the Tech broke up for the hols!
