Irrespective of budget cuts and what that entails for our current squad after the play-offs we have to make it costly for Pompey to come again and take away LR if we are going to promote within.

Give LR the improved offer and write into it a payment clause as we have for PC. For LR himself he has a big big decision to make about his future if PC goes and he chooses to follow.

I can see a major over haul of the squad whatever happens with PC. Morsy will undoubtedly be offered about this close season in view of his future comments.

I can see Roberts, Ryan and Drew leaving one way or another.

Who of our current squad would attract PC a Pompey manager -squad players like Raglan Goboly etc should be protected as far as we can. These guys are our future assets.

A lot of this could all be viewed differently should we prevail at Wembley.

God I hate this league.

If the situation is that CFC are hamstrung by the (as yet undeclared?) budget for next season, Richardson might think he is better sticking with Cook wherever Cook goes. Cook will do well to find another Gary Roberts, should Roberts stay here, and another Jimmy Ryan.

Really??

Plenty of quality players are willing to drop down the leagues if the right deal is on the table (and don't forget Ryan will be a free agent soon anyway!)

Such a drama queen. You've basically sold off half the squad there.

Theres no way that Roberts will leave. He loves it here and is 31 now. Another Lester situation.

Don't blame Pompey. The 'Up for Grabs' comments by our hapless CEO signalled the start of this fiasco. If anyone's timing was poor, it was his. We've been let down big time. And for me at least, once too often.

No it didn't. The greed of the Agent signalled the start. He sniffed an opportunity to make some money for himself and PC bought into it.

That wouldn't have been the start of it. My guess would be cooks agent would have been hawking him around before it looked like we would make the play offs and had a chance of going up

I'm sure you're right. Turner's comments put it firmly in the public domain. Still not sure why he said what he did - any statement starting with those time honoured words: "I shouldn't really say this, but....." should definitely best be left unsaid.

His agent is an insider at Portsmouth.

That would also be my guess. Crazy to think it came from CT's words, though he would have been better keeping it quite, though this still probably wouldn't have changed anything with the final outcome. PC could have ended all this at any stage like SM did with the Newcastle approach at Derby, it's done and dusted, unlike here where that tells you everything you need to know (and some still refuse to believe it  )

The only way he's not going to Portsmouth is if they are gazumped by a bigger club whilst they hang on for us to finish our season.

Heyup. I thought it was a posting on here about PC's unusual odds with the bookies. I can't honestly remember though.
