Appointing Paul Cook before the game against Barnet.
A new hope.

That game, so far away from home, kicked us on and was pivotal to our end of season push!

Paul Cook walking into the changing room and saying - "right lads, Doyles gone and they given me sweet ****** adams to replace him, they obviously think you can't make the play offs............. what say we make them choke on their transfer fees!"
(Just my take on things by the way - this isn't even a rumour!)

For me it was coming back to draw from being 3-0 down away at Preston! That really showed we really were a team to be reckoned with...

The day that Dave Allen came on board.

In his first major interview for the club he set out his goals for delivering entertaining and successful football for a club that was generally starved of it. He has appointed 2 managers and both have been massively successful for us. Two league Championships, two Wembley appearances and a JPT trophy.

In a consolidatory season in league 1 we have made the play off’s. I just hope he remains at the club for some time yet.
If only....

For me it was the 0-1 away win at Bradford. A stunning win and one which was a six pointer if ever there was one. Just take a look at the league table and see what it would look like if the score had been the other way around. Also, I believe it not only gave us the 'belief' that has carried us through the recent great run, but it also helped to seriously dent Bradfords confidence. Just look how many games they have lost since ! Prior to that game, they looked the main threat to us getting in the playoffs, especially with their games in hand. It was only after that victory of ours that Rochdale became the main threat to us.

I'd probably go with Bradford as well...just a different type of win to what we'd seen before and the kind of game we've not won when it matters in the past.

The late winner against Walsall was the turning point, the game had 0-0 written all over it and the season was drifting away until then

Yeah it didn't seem like it at the time but that win against Walsall was to become crucial. The game was drifting away as was our season only to be revived by a corner of all things.
Here we go again!

I agree, it was played like an end of season warm down. I remember thinking to myself during the game..oh well weve not had a bad run this year, same league next year..

Bradford away for me.

Anyone who saw us play that night knew just how much we were against it.

The pitch was diabolical, torrential rain (even snow for about 15 minutes), the Bradford fans were in very high voice and they were at us with wave after wave of attack. Humphreys was a rock and even all of our 'flair' players really got stuck into them and pulled together an amazing team performance.

Just remembered, I said to my mate about 15 mins in:

"we had a great run after the jpt final last year, you think we could do the same again?"

Only said it in jest as that was the game after they lost in the final. Should have stuck a quid on it now.
Here we go again!

Walsall at home for me was the turning point.
I recall looking at the live table just before Hird headed home and we were in 12th spot!!! We then never looked back.
