Without looking it up I make it that we've taken 18 points from 14 games (a possible 42) against the team's currently occupying the bottom 10 league places. I sense this as something of a Spireite trait, certainly in recent times, of raising our game against the bigger/better sides and then stuttering against those struggling. This season it will be the difference between a play off spot and finishing mid table, which is frustrating to say the least.

How does that differ from our our overall points per game ratio?

Had we taken the same points against those sides as our average against the rest we would currently have 50 points. Doesn't seem like much but in the context of this season when the league is so tight it will be such margins that which will be the difference.

 And those fine margins show that there isn't a vast difference in the teams in this division.Every game is competitive and none are easy.
Many a good tune

I read a great deal into it! If we are ever to go upwards the one sure way to do so is to take a disproportionate number of points from teams at a lower level.
