Spin? The club's Group accounts to 30 June 14 show a deficiency of £8.5M with loans outstanding £7.3M.

The club lost over £7M in each of the two years to 2014. And that's after two years worth of parachute payments.

Fair play to them. As a business model though, Arsenal have got it absolutely spot on.

Regardless of what people think about trophies, they succeed season after season in getting a top 4 position. Hate how the media and the public in general play down how Arsenal only "Play for the top 4" - as if it is some easy feat.

To do it season after season after season with reasonable investment in youth, and a few additions is very admirable IMHO

Did you know Apple actually borrow money for their cashflow because it's cheaper to do that than bring home their profits and pay tax on them?
Guess I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue!

Fair play

A company that has 180 billion dollars in cash borrows 40 billion just to avoid paying it's fair share? Fair play wasnt the first thought that came to mind.

Story if anyone cares

Was just trying to show debt isnt always a negative thing.

Swansea, West Brom and Southampton all currently blissfully debt free

Incorrect. Southampton are in a LOT of debt. That was a big reason behind their summer clear out. There coats were spiraling out of control. A lot of the players that left and they made good money on were also their top earners.. Wanting more. Or so the scummers say.

We are debt free and turning an operating profit.
