I can't understand how in 2017 they seem to be launching this place without any social media exposure.

I haven't seen anything about it on Facebook or Twitter.

Can't find anything on twitter other than bands etc mentioning they are playing at the place, no actual twitter for them though. Link below to Facebook.

What was the club near to the old Coop in the mock Tudor parade.
Was it something like Moulin Rouge??
Lot of bands did gigs or pa's in there.

That was Xanadu in my day.

We then moved to the Brad. Then it was the old cinema next to what used to be Spires, cant for the life of me remember what it was called. Then we sort of moved onto the old YMCA?? building, Libertys I think it was called.

Not been round Town for about 10 years.
Guess I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue!

Same as me, as you will know being the same age ;)

Old cinema was initally a pub then later expanded to be the nightclub called Zanzibar then more recently went through a couple of other names. There was a gap between Xanadu closing and Zanzibar opening that was filled by the Brad that later had a refurb and the two sides had different names. I thought one of those was Libertys with the other side being Genesis but could be wrong.

Spot On, Liberty's being over 25's only, and to my knowledge the only night club in a 100 mile radius that sold hot roast pork cobs inside the venue!

Then, the old Xanadu became Lava and Ignite, too.

Saw more fights in Lava & Ignite in the time it was open than in everywhere else in town over all the years I used to go round town put together. Horrific place.

The pork cobs were served in there during its Brad days as well from a little hatch by the bar in the Under 25s side. Also seem to remember that Xanadu served food in the Hollywood Bar bit as well but i cant say i ever dared try it...i just used to hang on and go to Tuminose before heading home.

Yeh thats the old YMCA, it did open as a nightclub for a while that i cant remember the name of but it wasnt very good from what i can remember and i only went in a couple of times.

One that some folk may not be aware of was that for a while, and for a reason i never quite understood, the old Terminus pub used to have a "late bar" upstairs in the function room on a Saturday night. When the bar closed downstairs folk would go upstairs where there was a DJ on and a separate bar. Only reason we knew about it was because it was where we all used to go and on occasion if we couldnt be bothered to go to town we'd stay there til late. It was never anything more than pub locals and staff that hung around though!!
