My brother has been and reckons it has potential as a live music venue if they can get the bands in.

It seems to have a big enough capacity to attract some decent one's, 1,100 if I remember correctly

Think my brother mentioned 1800 which is similar to Rock City in Nottingham. Just a case of getting known which may mean finances aren't great for a while if they can stick it out. Think there is a market for it...see a lot of Chesterfield folk when going to gigs in sheffield. Issue is going to be getting the bands.

I can remember the bowling alley. As for the club name. Struggling here on this one. I can remember there was a club called Fascination once. For some reason Silver rings a bell

Club Fever. All you could drink for the door price. A shame really as someone had spent a fortune doing it up.

The Avenue has been done up well and has massive potential as a live music venue, they just need to get decent bands

Went in opening night and drinks prices were high (£4.25 for Carlsberg, £5 for Premium Lager) but they have reduced these after the feedback they received

The Avenue have signed up Dodgy as one of their first 'high profile' gigs.

I think they need to set their sights a bit higher than this!

Its a start though. The problem will be getting what may be deemed higher profile acts away from Sheffield\Nottingham etc. If they can prove the venue is decent enough and get a few half decent bands in that folk roll up to they may be able to attract some bigger acts. I think there is a market for it in Chesterfield as plenty of folk go to gigs in Sheff\Nottingham etc on a regular basis but this new place needs to be able to stick it out for a while to see if they can make it work rather than closing after 6 months when its not worked straight away.
