It's only banter if all parties think it's banter. Yes there should be good relationships within the club but if the CEO has made fun of Pie Man, knowing Boco wanted more money and worked for Jacksons on his days off, then that's not banter, it's taking the p!ss.

IMO, our CEO should reduce the banter and work on improving the clubs operational success. Think how much money we'd have lost if we'd been disqualified from the FA cup....

'Over the years' were my words, not 'this season'. Are you suggesting that Boco's past history of employment has been a steady progression? As he has a perfect right to do, he's shuttled around countries and clubs and never settled anywhere, unless Cookie was running the show, and even then he turned his back on him and went to Plymouth, regretting it the day after by all accounts.
Any footballer has the right to maximise his earnings in any legal way he sees fit. It doesn't make him either dishonest or a mercenary - I think you might be playing the drama queen a bit there.
It simply seems he's departed without warning and left his 'mate' Cookie, to pick up the pieces. Nothing either manipulative or dishonest there - though it's behaviour that might not get him the same consideration as, say, Richie Humphrey when it comes to his next attempts to find a club.
The day I accept any statement from the club, Mr Turner included, as gospel will be the first. The day I accept anybody's guilt on the basis of no evidence - including whispers in the car park - will also be a first.

So you had absolutely no idea if Boco wanted to sign a deal or not, but stated as fact he didn't anyway.

Just as you accused him of having a long-term record of unreliability just to smear him further. So he's moved around pursuing his profession; it's called being a footballer.

If you know nothing, as you repeatedly tell us, I suggest you leave it at that rather than hurl insults.
Never underestimate the stupidity of people

Can I just point out Rommy worked at Jacksons not just on his days off but mainly on training days (2-10 after training).

I'm assuming that's basic, plus appearance, win & goal bonuses?

If true, Boco was worth more that £500 basic per week. Good luck to him in India; football is a very short career.

Which would likely have made him amongst the lowest paid members of the first team squad still.

How much you think CEOs earn at a club our size?

Yep

So worst case scenario would have been £500pw, but it's difficult to judge how poor the offer was without knowing the appearance, win & goal bonuses!

There is something about this whole story that doesn't stack up. Why was Boco playing on a non contract basis? Who was the last player we had playing in the first team on the same basis?

It sounds like something from the 1960s when we had a number of part timers playing.

230 posts on this topic so far! Speaks volumes of Boco's importance to the squad. One things a fact...since the transfer window has opened, our squad has got weaker!

Not necessarily. Its just that the story has more twists and turns than Broadchurch. And like Broadchurch we are no nearer to knowing what really happened. To me he would have been one of the last on the team sheet, not the first. We have a number of equivalent players who can step into the breach.

No, Chris Turner said so.

I like your analogy! If what Edmond is saying is factual, he was after a contract similar to our fringe players (I think that's fair). IMO he was more of an asset than some due to his versatility.

Yes. He didn't sign - that's a fact, as I stated.

Yes. I was at pains to say that as well. Twice, as a matter of fact.

I haven't insulted Boco. I've given the opinion that Boco went without warning and left Cookie with a problem. Is that wrong?

That scraping noise seems to be coming from the bottom of your barrel.
