Agreed but who?

Talbot, Darikwa, Morsy, O'Shea, Doyle

CFC has signed players with an eye to the future - Gardner, Clucas, Banks - and I like the look of all of them.

However, football like any other business, is about the here and now

What happened to everyone saying "I absolutely love this club at the moment!"?

We knew this league wasn't going to be easy, we've had a dip in form (a substantial one at that) and a wake up call as to the quality of league 1. This is where we belong and so far this season that's what we've demonstrated, we're still in the top half remember!

People can be so fickle at times, I'm not going to pretend there's nothing to be worried about, there are some legitimate concerns. But to claim we need a complete uphaul is one hell of a statement, just cast your mind back to a few weeks ago and remember how well this squad can play!!
I just don't know what I'm supposed to be

Gardner isn't good enough. He wasn't good enough to play regularly in League 2. Banks looks good enough to have as a squad player. I agree they both need loaning out.

He wasn't tonight! Looked knackered from the first minute & when he came over to the left everyone knew he was going to cut back inside, so easy to take the ball off him.

Yes I did go to the game - as I have every home game for nearly 40 years.

I've seen a lot of players in that time and, in my opinion, Gardner is never going to make it at this level. That's my opinion.

He was clearly going to be subbed last night because the only impact he was having on the game was to continually give the ball away. However, if you need a player who can back heel the ball (even sometimes to a team mate) then he's your man.

I hope he proves me wrong.

I agree, it's hard work from the manager and players that will sort this dip out.
If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything.

Your having a laugh, he was the only one showing any class, I wouldn't have subbed him. I want to see Bocco return as he battles his way back to cover the fullback. I agree that Banks and Gardener would benefit from regular games but we can't afford to let them go out on loan we need them now.I'd have liked to have seen Nanndo charging down on their keeper when it was passed back to him, he had so much time on the ball. Nanndo would probably have got booked but he would have gone sliding in on the keeper to put him under pressure. It would be good tosee Tommy distributing the ball as well as their keeper, his form has been worrying.

Major rebuilding after a massive cull halfway through a season...that could only be a massive success!

Whilst i agree maybe sacrificing one of the main assets to reinvest is worthwhile wholesale massive changes isnt the way forward.

I disagree. He has hardly played it is only now that he has chance to get match fit. Gardener cannot be judged on last night. We just got battered second half, for me Swindon were the best team I have seen this season. Solid at the back, very strong running mobile midfield, basically strong all over the pitch. Teams like Swindon know they can go for it because we are attack minded and don't really cause problems closing down. Their second goal was very well worked and showed decent pace cutting inside with an excellent shot to finish. For me and as many have already said we want too many passes in front of goal and we dont gamble enough for crosses. No one is bullying centre backs. Gardner's and Roberts' cross on Saturday for example. The crosses deserve better.
At the end of the day we are what we are and there is no clear answer of what team to play. All much of a muchness. One thing I will add is Tommy is not making things easy for the defence with erratic decision making and flapping when he gets physically bullied. Just gives me the "herby gerbies" with some of his handling and padding balls back.
Anyway on to Saturday with hopefully get a decent ref

I think Gardner looked a threat, first half, and given a run of games could be very effective at this level.

Part of Swindon's plan seemed to be to exhaust Doyle by playing it around at the back and making him chase, which- fair play- he did, though it was taking it out of him as it would any player. A good means of reducing the threat from our sole striker.
These go to eleven.

Sod right off, RPL. So obviously you - you reappear (along with Walton and Happ Hazzard as soon as results turn bad, i.e. October), and blame...yes, you guessed it - Talbot and O'Shea! Quelle surprise! Go and pull your pud over MK Dons playmaker extraordinaire on THEIR forum.

Thank you for talking sense. Still, everyone has a right to be miffed at all this...provided they are not on a permanent wind up.

I am certain that wasn't their plan - they naturally pass it around at the back, I don't think it's to tire anyone out it's because they play football the right way and they are all supremely comfortable in possession.

I think we can pass it around at the back too, though it doesnt hurt the opposition much

I thought Gardner looked pants and out of his depth. Kept losing the ball, first touch was poor, tries fancy stuff that doesn't come off, e.t.c. My brother basically fancies him but I just can't see what he offers.

What a random list. 3 are assets, 1 is a non-playing attacking mid, and 1 is currently crocked.
