Also was told there would be two. Not be the first time Turner has miscalculated the figures mind! :)

If it's only one and in a corner then it can't be viewed from a very high percentage of the seats. Has to be two to make any sense.

Would it be wise to situate in the East/North corner what with the glare from the sun on occasion?

For most games the glare from the sun is a problem for people sitting in the east stand - that's why so many of us don baseball caps. Siting a big screen between the North and East Stands would suffer because of this - it would also mean that people sitting in the biggest stand in the ground would not be able to see it. Best site would be between the West and North stands but it won't go there as the prawn sarnie brigade wouldn't be able to see it.

East might have the largest capacity, but I would venture the West has the most fans in it each match. Also, fyi, its only caviar and champagne in the lounges, served to your personalised leather sofa.

 Could well do.Suppose that corner has been chosen because it is already occupied by the header tank for the pitch sprinklers. Thus keeping the other three corners free from any obstruction.

Could be paid for by the bookies rumoured to be coming to the concourses?

No rumours.

Its dependant on the trial that's in place in the lounges currently.

Also, the new screen/scoreboard should be installed on Tuesday 2nd December.

Not strictly on topic, but technology related - are there any plans to install Wifi on the concourses? I only ask because on match days, its really hard to get a 3G connection.
My mate wanted to cash out his bet at 3-1 against Sheff U but couldn't get the connection in time to do it.

Sure it came up in one of the FF meetings that Wi-Fi was being trialled in the West Stand, with a view to rolling it out across the ground.

Not seen anything to suggest it has been set up yet though.

Unless you're able to get the press Wi-Fi password, altho am sure that's probably reset every game.

I've got "Chesterfield FC Free WiFi" saved as a hotspot on my phone but could never get a connection through it.
Doubt it'll happen ....

Didn't I read somewhere they'd shelved those plans?

I heard that they trialled it and it didn't get beyond the bottom few rows or so, making it pointless for a large %age of the crowd.

Do any techies know how you could get a wi-fi signal around a whole stadium and how much it would cost?

I suspect the bigger issue is no so much making it available to everyone, that can be done by spending the money on sticking loads of access points around the place, but then you have to ensure you have the bandwith to cope with potentially a few thousand folk all going through it at half time and it being usable.

San Francisco 49ers have just had a new ground and they've made it so fans have wifi access and cover the place by sticking the access points under seats but need one for every 100 people or so apparently. It will then be supplied by 70 miles of cabling they have in the place! That said it does mean you can use the Wifi to access the stadium app on your smartphone and place your food\drink order that is then delivered to your seat within 20mins! Mind you in the Jacksonville Jaguars stadium they've put in a swimming pool you can watch the game from....might not be first choice for a midweek game in January at the Proact mind you!

Guess you'd need some sort of booster transmitters positioned around the stands, and for little/no return to the club then no wonder its been shelved.

Off at a tangent, but 4G is that poor at penetrating (mainly concrete) buildings, the company I work for is making decent figures in the US installing booster systems for major office complex's and apartment blocks. Installing receivers on the roof and then wiring small transmitters on intermittent floors to boost signal.

Once 4G is common in the Uk, I'd imagine there is some big money to be made, short term.

Yep, North East (see mock up image on link I posted earlier).

Visible to the majority of the crowd on a normal match day.
