    Allotment - proper tasting veg!

Posted 15 September 2014 - 10:57 AM

At last it's coming together! Evatt - how could anybody have ever doubted him? In Johnson we have now got a creative midfield player on the books again. Clucas looks special. Morsy/Ryan are dominant. And then there's Gardner and Banks to look forward to, not to mention watching Armand progress. Any downsides? Still concerned about the full back positions. Injuries - I don't know what we've done to derserve such bad luck. Squad depth will become a issue over the duration of the season. Finally, and i's a positive/negative, Paul Cook will be attracting attention. All in all we couldn't have wished for a better start. I'm loving seeing creativity linked to wide play.

if you think he's the only creative midfielder we have*, I really can't take the rest of your post serious.

*and he's not on our books either.

To the 18 players we had starting + bench yesterday, you can add Hird, Talbot, Gardner, Broadhead, Onovwigun, Lamb, Humphreys and Dawes. Not even counting the real youth teamers such as Beesley, that's a squad of 26. Yes there are a couple of long term injuries (SH, DT) and yes there are 3 relatively untried names (MO, CL, CD) in there but it's still a fairly sizeable squad that should cope with all but the worst injury crisis.

My only concern is a lack of cover/competition for Tommy. I suppose if a couple of the back up guys go out on loan, which they should as they are very inexperienced, then we might be short of cover.

I was going to say Rio (until I remembered he played for Utd), as I've never heard of 'b' and 'c' is a Left Back

Judge people as you find them. I've never met him so cannot comment. My hubby has met him and says he's a decent bloke.
