Kinda liked Wilder for the way he embraced talk of a move here some years ago.

Lost respect for the sullen response to his lot bottling it this spring, though.

Either way it's bizarre that someone guiding a side to a points total which would've seen them promoted most other seasons is out on his jacksy.

Perhaps he's a younger version of Warnock - effective but mard-assed lower league performer...

He's got them promoted to the PL before and just missed out this time. He's got the experience to do it again so imo they have made a mistake

Very much out of the Warnock stable, but like Warnock, Wilder's a manager that you acknowledge because he can do a job and has longevity in the game.

As I see it, their decision to move him on is likely to blow-up in spectacular fashion.

Hope so. They’ll be bottom half and he’ll be gone in January.

Weeks of consideration by the bros and they come up with him

Guess that is the problem with their managership model, it must decimate their list of potential candidates. It all comes down to whether the 'head coach' can work with his DOF and his signings and visa-versa.

Imagine PC working under those restrictions

Confirmed.

Reading their owners comments and the ‘technical board’ set up they’re starting, it’s little wonder it’s taken them so long to find someone to take the job

Sounds like Paterson will spend of his time in meetings!!

“Edwards and Slocombe will join Paterson, our owners, Gagliardi and Director of Performance Dr David Rhodes on a newly-formed Technical Board which will meet regularly to discuss football strategy, team and player performance, data insights and other matters.

Ahead of each match, relevant members of the Technical Board will share views relating to tactical approach and team selection, taking into account factors such as player fitness and readiness, data modelling and opposition analysis. Paterson, as Head Coach, will have ultimate decision-making responsibility for each game plan.

Post-match meetings will also take place, enabling the coaching team to explain in-game decisions and for a data-led review of the match to be presented, including insights on physical and technical outputs of the team and individuals.

The Technical Board will also develop a process to support the coaching team in making more effective in-game decisions. This will involve supplying a variety of data-led metrics, analysis and insights to the dugout in as near to real-time as possible.”

The 'head coach' sounds like a really small piece of the jigsaw or is it menagerie.

I love the bit about developing a process to make in game decisions more effective. He'll be reaching for his flow chart every five minutes. Don't know why they are bothering with the technical board, might as well use ChatGPT.
