Difficult job for him really, when the few world class players they had, have either retired or no longer at their best. They'll probably employ Dean Saunders when he speaks at the annual Welsh FA dinner/dance.

When you international team is made up of Championship and L1 players, I'm not sure what the Welsh FA are expecting

Not to draw 0-0 with a Gibraltar side that had lost 13 on the spin at an aggregate of 50-0 maybe?

But Rob Page was the man who took these players to a major finals. One result (which you're implying) should not overhaul his record.
Life goes on. Whatever happens.

I?m sure I?ve read that within the game McClaren is regarded as one of the top technical coaches.

Doesn?t make him management material though.

Even the bloody Deanosaur won the odd game. What is it about his record at Derby and Birmingham that made the Plymouth board think "He's the man"?
It's nice to be able to Trust again.

I met with a very senior person at Plymouth and asked them this very question, the thinking was the Rooney name would increase ticket sales and they were hoping to get in some very good back room staff to do the work on the training ground

Given every home league game is pretty much sold out anyway I'm not sure how that was going to happen.
