Big Al told me as a FACT according to him that our budget is bust. We've already used it all. It was on the whole, smaller than last years budget. Higdon deal was all done but DA pulled the plug (which I think most people on here guessed).
He said Cook is fuming and the only option he has is to utilise Jay O as a striker. He said the statement on Monday would say plain and clearly 'NO MORE SIGNINGS' but I guess it was never going to do that. Imagine the meltdown!

I know he personally knows Cook so I had no reason to believe that wasn't truth.

I am dealing in fact actual events your dealing in a scenario that didn't happen, are people forgetting it wasn't long ago we were being hammered at Saltergate by the likes of Macclesfield with less than 3k in attendance. We had players in our ranks like Jamie Winter, Barry Conlon, Martin Gritton.
Even without another signing we are lighyears ahead of what we were five years ago, like I said we have been spoiled big time.
Time for a reality check plus maybe lowering the expectation some have for our club.

NB: Nothing against the guy, indeed I know him, see him most home games and spent some time with him during my Peak connections back in the day.

But you cannot blow smoke up people's backsides and then moan when fans start to get disgruntled, the words from management board and senior players has all been the same ..This club is set up for the championship..Evatt said " it's a championship standard club"..Allen has said ..." we are aiming for championship football"...I can't think of anybody who has not said it..problem is it's not really anything but a pipe dream and we are not set up like a championship club and probably never will be.

Yes and we are a step closer to that with a shiny new ground since he has been our chariman, ask yourself this where would we now be without him. Then ask yourself where are we now plus where have we been over his time here, yes we have seen a relegation but the good far outways the bad.
