As would I. But like I say for now, DA has done an awful lot for us and invested lots of money, he's the last person people can start blaming for the lack of money. And likewise the fans have also done their bit with increased ST sales.

So where does that leave us? Major shareholder and fans have done their bit, maybe we just have to accept the budget we have and try and use it more wisely in future as opposed to just asking the top man for more.

I agree completely.

Has any of that lot got serious money?

If not, what is their purpose apart from eating the free buffet

Interesting to see how some would spend other people's money.

I'm reminded of the phrase "ambition and romance are a poisonus brew". Maybe DA has the plan to distill one from the other...

We have a club that looks to cut it's cloth accordingly.

Also, what if the plan is to try and get by this season on an absolute shoestring, with the intention of mounting a serious investment in the squad in 15/16?

Seriously struggling to see the logic in that?

If you are serious perhaps you can explain?

Thats fine providing the club is funding a squad of players capable of competing in L1. I am making an assumption that the board wanted us to be promoted. If they felt the club wouldnt be able to fund a competitive L1 squad they really ought to have told the fans that. I recall hearing DA say last season that Cook would have a bigger budget if we were promoted, though it has been claimed he is getting less.

Do you have to bring them up in every post? You are reverting back to your Pogbee alter ego more and more.

First & foremost, the business model needs a complete review, it's clearly unsustainable & has been for the past four seasons.

Secondly, we need someone who understands numbers & financial control. Also the same person needs to be a strong individual with the ability to say no to some of the whimsical requests.

Clearly additional funding is required, but points 1 & 2 need to happen, otherwise we'll deteriorate further.

This time last year at the fans forum - I recall DA answering a question regarding the possibilities should we gain promotion and he said something very closely along the same lines as this:

"When we went up last time we lost Craig Davies and we did not replace him adequately...Had I been Chairman at the time that would NOT have happened....Also we learn from the mistakes of last time - we understand that even if we go up we need to make additions and not have our vision clouded in thinking our current squad will do the job...just as we did last time"

All I'd say to the board right now if there is a reluctance to fund the club further - We have a manager with some great potential. He plays football the right way and can bring the best out of absolutely everyone - yes he does have his negative points but name a manager that doesn't? He is one that we want to keep hold of and if he doesn't get the backing, he will jump at the first change he gets...PC deserves a bit more respect IMO.

Spot on Fitzy, I think that Players agents test clubs prior to the start of the season and when clubs like ours don't give in to ridiculous demands, then its the players that suffer I think we will be ok once we get loanees in,we may get a hiding from some of the clubs but I feel we will hold our own in this division.

If you spend the wage budget then theres nothing left. If you have 100 quid in your pocket and go to Tesco's you can only spend 100 quid. I dont blame Paul Cook I think we may have to start looking at who allowed him to bring in young prospects on contract who are raw but can improve over a quality player who as a track record. Maybe we need to look at who allowed Paul Cook to extend contracts without doing the Maths?

Not for one minute blaming DA....My point was the fact that something major must be holding him back after the thoughts he expressed at that time.

I am very confused at the moment and solely working on rumours it would be nice to hear the truth hope Mondays statement helps a little to get us some answers maybe not all but some. Maybe it will just make it worse. Truth be known if the statement tells everone the club are skint will we be getting bids for our players undervalued because we need the money???? told you I was confused

I saw Derek's last minute "winner" away at Brentford, before they equalised in the 95th minute..Jim brown was our keeper...beat that!

I went to that game too. Me and me dad left as injury time started. It was 1 all at the time. To be fair, Dereks ability on the football pitch made it seem a fair bet that missing him score was unlikely to ever be an issue.
